Help! I have a 4 year old that I think would have so much fun with an advent calendar this year. We already have one, but I need help with some fun ideas for each day. Thank you in advance! :)
My daughter is 10 now and still loves this: Each year I write notes about how much I love her and why. I also put a small candy in each thing. I also sometimes put a few small coins or a dollar or two in there. On Christmas Eve I give $5 or $10. Her favorite part is the notes though.
We hav ean advent calendar and there's a piece of chocolate for each day.
I like the idea of a note about your 4 yr old, why mom loves him/her, why dad is proud of him/her, etc.
You could also put ideas for what you could do to help someone that day: ie, "Today, let's make cookies for the next door neighbor." or "Today we'll go to the animal shelter and pet the lonely kitties." "Write a letter to a person in need (elderly, orphans, etc)."
I just went to the dollar store and bought candies, little toys, and a few bigger items. For the bigger items I'll put a scavenger hunt type note in that day's spot! For my girls I bought little rings, Bracelets, nail polish, jingle bell necklaces, stamps, stickers, lipgloss, hair pretties, and party favors are usually small enough to fit.
Not exactly answering your question, but we just started our first advent calendar with our son. It's the Lego advent calendar and we had a very easy time getting him to bed tonight- he can't wait for tomorrow morning to see what it will be! Each day has a small package of Legos and a picture of what it can make. Today was a snowman.
