My husband and my 20th anniversary is coming up in October. We have already talked about taking a long weekend and going somewhere. We don't want to spend a fortune though. I am looking for any ideas ! I am not opposed to flying somewhere if we can get a decent price. So.... does anyone have any suggestions for a nice trip ? Oh - I have looking at the Texas Hill Country. If anyone has been there - can you recommend any hotels / inns / lodges ? That is one option we have talked about.
Thanks for any suggestions & ideas !

Hi my name is N. Cox and I am a Travel Agent from Flower Mound. I will be happy to help you. There are a couple of really great resorts in the hill country around San Antonio. I also like San Francisco or Seattle for long weekends. Both cities are easy to get to and have affordable flights.
You might also think about a cruise from Galveston of maybe Galveston even.
Please feel free to call or email me 214 629-233
Thanks
N. Cox

Hey-
If you are going in October, you may want to try to find an October Fest to attend. I believe they have several around the Hill Country area. If you want to get further away, they have a great October Fest in Helen, Georgia (which is a little more mountainous and cooler than Texas). Book early though!

And, just to be clear, October Fest doesn't mean drink fest. They have beer, certainly, but there are also other cultural events going on - music, arts and crafts, etc.

For our 25th, we went to San Antonio. Stayed in a really nice hotel in the hill country and were bums. It was wonderful!

Our's is in Sept, we were planning on going to the Niagra Falls, w/our 2 girls. But, my dad sprung a trip to Disney in July on us so I guess we'll just go w/something simple by the lake as we had originally planned :)

Not familiar w/Texas at all, but enjoy!

Hawkins, Texas area is very quaint and peaceful and is a secret place to tourists outside of the area. South Padre Island is also nice but more touristy.

My brother and SIL love the bed and breakfast at Fossil Rim in Glenrose, TX. I think it's called Cedars on the Brazos.

Our 20th is next March, and we're thinking about San Francisco, but if we decide not to shell out so much money, we are going to see what Groupon deals or other deals are going on near that time. Our only requirement is that we want to go somewhere that neither of us have ever been before. :)

Happy Anniversary!

We ventured back to where we had originally met and married 20 years ago. We madea family vacation out of it, as we wanted the kids to have something to relate to when we talked about our early days. And we also only had time & money for one vacation anyway. So the kids got to see the military base we met at, where we used to live, our first apartment, and our old hangouts. We then spent the next week touring the area and the southwest doing some things we'd always wanted to do like exploring the pueblo ruins in New Mexico. We ended up in Las Vegas for 2 nights and caught some great shows.

The hill country might be busy around Oktoberfest but if you really want to stay there, try a b&b in or around Fredricksburg.

New Orleans is always fun and can make for some great memories.

The Texas Hill country is the best during the fall.
I have a friend who has a ranch there and we go there every year.
There are some great B&Bs in the area.
Check online as Fredericksburg always has something going on during the fall. There are lots of wineries in that area too. Downtown fredricksberg has lots of shops and this past year we went to wimberly and found it to be much quainter.
Check it out online.
