Hi everyone!

Does anyone know of a real way to get rid of these nasty stains? Can they be prevented? If bleach doesn't remove them, what can??!!

Thanks!
A.

I never figured out a way to get them out. The only way I could prevent them was to stop using aluminum-based anti-perspirants. Yes, I sweated more at first (I'm a heavy sweater) but then to my great surprise my sweating dramatically decreased. I think my body was trying to expel the aluminum. It was so nasty.

I still sweat (not nearly as much though) but I don't get yellow stains.

It is a chemical reaction between the sweat and the deodorant. You will need to switch to a solid deodorant (the gel ones bleach fabrics and increase your chances of getting orange/yellow stains. Wear shirts that don't ride up high in the pit area. Oxyclean does a great job removing most stains.

Forget the bleach - it's toxic. Put hydrogen peroxide in an opaque spray bottle. Spray the pits, let it bubble and wash in cold.

What I have found with my husband's and sons' tee-shirts with this issue is to cut the underarms out of the shirt, and then use the shirts as rags...

Sorry!

Spray N Wash or Shout. Pretreat thoroughly, and allow plenty of time to sit before washing.

I have used a product called Grandma's Secret Spot Remover for sweat stains. My local grocery stores don't carry it but I found at Michael's craft stores - it has even gotten blood stains out of clothes for me.
