What to Get MIL for Christmas

So, it's that time of the year again. I'm trying to figure out what to get my MIL from my husband, my 7 month old son and myself. She just recently moved in with my SIL. So, she wouldn't need anything that you would need for a house. She's doesn't like jewelry and I wouldn't have any idea what size clothes she wears. Last year my family got our picture taken with my SIL family for a present. We can't do that again. Any ideas? Any ideas what my 7 month old son can get his 2 grandmothers? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Get her a gift certificate to get her hair or nails done. Something to make her feel good about herself. From your son you can make something really really neat that I know they will love. I'm doing it with my 7 month old also for christmas gifts. Go to michaels or hobby lobby and get this stuff called precious stone. It would be by the plaster of paris. You will make a casting of your childs foot or hand. Its very VERY simple to do and it doesnt hurt them in any way. You mix this stuff put they hand or foot in it wait for it to turn white which takes 10 to 20 seconds and wiggle their hand or foot out. After your pour the special cement in the mold and let sit for 24 hours. After you peel off the molding which is like rubber. Then you have a 3-D hand or foot of your baby. It is so detailed after that you can even see the fingerprints. They would go nuts and everyone who ever sees them always asks how in the world did you do it. Good luck, and Have fun!

All great suggestions. If you truly feel that she wouldn't be happy with any personal gift you would choose, go with the gift card idea and a little something else she could open.. something from your son.. like a framed photo of him or maybe sneak a shot of him with each gramma before Christmas and frame that.. or just do that.. I'm not sure what your budget is.. it could be a really nice frame..
good luck and I Think its so nice you care to want to please her and make her happy.

I know that you said your MIL doesn't like jewelery, but what about something that has sentimental value. Like a charm bracelet with a charm that represents your son, like one with his birthstone or a charm that has his picture embossed on it. Then if/when you have more kids you can get a charm for her for each grandchild. Or maybe she would like a purse with your son's picture embossed on it. I can't remember which company does them, but I know they are out there.

My MIL has enjoyed many of the gifts you can get on photo websites (including shutterfly, Walmart, Walgreens, etc). She has a mug with a picture of my children on it, and she has really liked the personalized calendars you can put together on those sites. Maybe she would like a nice set of gloves/scarf/hat, or a nice decorative coat pin. If she is at all electronically/digitally inclined the digital photo frames are very nice. I think MIL is one of the hardest people on my Christmas list, so I know how you feel. Good luck.
