What Have They Done for You Lately?

Hi mamas! I feel so blessed today. I was at work today, and I got a text from my husband saying "I am outside and I have a gift for you." I went outside, and my husband brought me a beautiful orchid for my desk! I was so surprised, because he works a ways away from me, so he had to sacrifice his whole lunch break to to go a nursery and come to my office. What a sweetheart! He always knows when I need a pick-me-up.

I love getting surprises...it always makes me want to do something sweet for him, or for someone else!

What sweet things have people in your life done for you lately?

:)

What can I do next?

Awww! That's sweet! I'd keep him if I were you Mama2B!

My neighbor works for a bakery and she always drops off extra cakes, pies, cookies and cupcakes from there. She says its for my kid but we both know he never sees it...

My husband is always considerate but lately he's been letting me sleep in more than usual. I have major sleep issues and he knows I sometimes don't get to sleep until 2 or 3. If I have to take my daughter to school, it means I have to be up at 7 - ugh. He will sometimes arrange his work schedule so I can sleep in a few mornings a week. He also ALWAYS makes breakfast for himself and my daughter - 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I'm NOT a morning person and he's not much of a cook, but he can whip up eggs, pancakes or whatever she'd like. He's like a short order cook.

My husband and daughter also planted a beautiful herb garden for me recently. I love to cook with fresh herbs and I've been wanting one for years. He will also do a few loads of laundry on the weekends if he sees that it's piling up. He doesn't ever make me feel like anything is MY job. He just does what he sees needs to be done. Hmmmm. . . think I'll show him how much I appreciate him later - lol.

My husband has been letting me sleep in when he can! I am hugely pregnant and so I spend at least 1/4 of my 8 hours of sleep actually waking up to painfully roll over, or get up to go to the bathroom or whatnot... so extra sleep is a commodity around here! I woke up startled a few days ago when I realized the sun was shining in my face and my toddler was not snuggled next to me (she usually sneaks into bed with us at about 3:00 am) I saw her little eyes peering at me from the foot of the bed and my husband rushed in the room and said "Come on, Rhiannon... mama needs her rest..."

It was noon.

It was a super little thing, but it felt like he had just given me a new set of diamond earrings! I also love him so much for telling me I am beautiful every day, when I FEEL like a huge moose! And when he gets home from a hard day at work and I have done nearly nothing all day (no energy)... and he says, your not "useless' you are just busy 'cooking all day' and you are doing the most important job you could ever do...."

Yeah, it makes me all teary... Although it makes me feel twice as guilty... because I am so ridiculously lucky and he deserves the absolute best! hehe!

Aw that is very sweet.

My dd made me a beautiful poster at school about why she loves me - I nearly cried reading it. I will treasure it forever. I am a bit worried though as at the end it said when she is older she will be a doctor and get married and have 3 kids and they will all live with me!!! YIKES. :-)

I had some out patient surgery (Nova Sure) so he picked up our son from school and he took him shopping for FOUR HOURS so I could sleep. By the time they got home the painkillers did thier job and I got some much needed sleep.

Feeling better than I though I would I have been up baking and cleaning since 4 am.

Today is his birthday so he'll be spoiled all day but he deserves it!

I know JUST what you mean about something nice for you makes you immediately want to do something nice for others!

One day last week my husband & I had been arguing via text & email most of the day & by the end of the work day were definitely disconnected & annoyed/angry with each other. By the time I got home from work & was getting changed I had cooled off some & decided mid-sweatpants, that a before-dinner quickie was in order to change up the mood. Well, that sure did the trick! When all was said & done he ran to the grocery store for dinner stuff & picked up all the fixings to make me a pina colada once he got home & even grilled the burgers for dinner!

Sometimes when we let enough little connections fall by the wayside it can be hard to get them back together, but when we're working together as well as for each other, we're unstoppable!

nice! My hubby packs me a lunch to bring to work every morning, he makes a sandwich and slices strawberries up and everything! and he washes my bottles and pumping parts every night, and gets them ready to go. And packs the book I'm reading (no matter where I've left it) so I can get a little reading in at lunchtime.

He also cuts up fruit for our DD to eat while I am getting ready before we leave.

And did I mention he makes dinner every night?

jeez. it's more like... what have I done for HIM lately!!

today, my older son drove me to the dr & then to the store. It was a huge help since I've been battling an ear infection & have been dizzy/off-balance.

My younger son has been handling all of the chores requiring stooping/bending over. & my DH ran my younger son/his friends all over town the entire wkend.....leaving me to be ME. YES!

My mom took my kids for the day last Friday. When they got home, they had a Grande Mocha Raspberry Iced Coffee for me. I was thrilled! They made a special trip to Starbucks to get it for me because "Mom never gets a treat". It was something small, but made me feel loved and appreciated.
