i had unprotected sex 2 months ago and had a normal period last month, but this month is late and i am feeling abdominal fullness and cramping on the right side as well as fatigue, lack of appetite. i have the mirena iud and have been having some crazy pms symptoms, just wondering if anyone else has been having the same issues? or is it possible i could be pregnant even though 2 tests were negative

Gosh I really never thought about the side effects until I read this. I have had the Mirena for almost 2 years. I dont have a period, a little spotting but really nothing. I am always tired just thought I was lazy lol, I have a lot of cramping and bloating, but no relief and yes I do feel pregnant. But I stop and think it's much better than having another baby. I am 36 years old I have a 2 year old and a 14 year old Momma is goin keep her Mirena. Good luck to you.

I had one after the birth of my first child and had the same types of symptoms, except I never had a period while I had it. I would get all the bloating, cramping etc... but no relief from a period. As soon as it was out I had a normal period and felt relief. I'm wasn't a fan an opted to go back on the pill after my second child was born.

I had mine put in in October and thought I was preggo just like you. Things have since calmed down. Right before I start spoting (which is now considered my period) I get the same symptoms still, but they arne't as bad as when I started. I think it took my body a little while to figure this thing out. I have finally stopped taking pregnancy tests every month (and my hubby stopped using condoms...I was that worried). Just give it a chance and if things done change you can always get it removed. I have just heard of a lot of friends that had them removed so quickly because they didn't like the feeling, or the fact that they spotted for so long. If you stick with it, I persoanlly think it's worth it. Spotting for 3 days, every month sure beats a period in my book:)
And if you are that worried about being pregnant, just go to your dr. and have then draw blood, because if you are actually preggo it is dangerous to your health.

I loved my Mirena for the first eight months, but now I really don't like it. I feel fatigued, occasional cramping, and I spot almost every day. I'm going to have it removed soon.

It's possible but unlikely. I've had Mirena for 3 years come the beginning of May and I've had one real period since, the rest just spotting. If you are really concerned that you're pregnant again or if you're in a lot of discomfort, make an appointment with your doctor; they can do an ultrasound and a blood pregnancy test which are more accurate.

I felt like I was pregnant pretty much the entire time I had Mirena. It seriously made me feel like I was insane. Moody and I felt achy all the time and gained a lot of weight despite eating healthier. I had it removed and have not had a problem since.

The only side effects I had with Mirena were 1)15lb weight gain within 3 months and 2) angry feelings all the time. Just those 2 little minor side effects. Had that thing taken out of me after 3 months. Hated it.

I have had my mirena for 1 yr and 4 months I have pms symptons all the time and I am considering having it removed I am always bloated I have gained 10 lbs since I got it I am ALWAYS tired even if I sleep 12 hours I wake up yawning I always have a headache, backache, leg pains, no energy and cramps I didn't use to be so moody and I believe this is all caused by the mirena I feel my body thinks I am preganant, but I am not I really wanted to keep it because I like not having a period and we spent about $650.00 to have it inserted since our insurance didn't cover it, but the way I feel everyday and treat my family because of my moodiness isn't worth it
