Does anyone know where I could take my wedding dress and sell it? It is an Alsal Cotour gown it excellent condition. I purchased it for $3500 and of course wore it for 5 hours. I would love for someone else to enjoy it as much as I did and I sure could use the money.

What can I do next?

Wow, this sounds familiar! I wore the gown of my dreams (Badgley Mischka for Pronovias), and then it sat in my closet for a few years. I ended up putting it on eBay, and I made back 3/4 of the money spent originally. All it takes is writing a detailed description and adding a few pictures. (A reserve price on something like this is probably a good idea, too.) Then, after it was paid for by the buyer, I just dropped it off at FedEx.

I have also heard of a wedding consignment shop in Atlanta, but I cannot remember the name. I chose eBay, though, since it provided a larger market, which, especially in this economy, might help you make a little more money.

Hope this helps! Good luck to you!

M.: I would try Craig's list and Clark Howard the local economist recommends that you only sell it locally in the area that you live in. Best of luck to you

Take a digital photo and place it on e bay and craig's list.other wise you won't get what it's worth Accept only PAY PAL payments. .
You could also take it to a Well know consignement shop.
There are a few in Marietta by the square.
There are a lot of them in Atlanta.
But I do think that Craig's list for cash only pick up at your place by them. CASH in hand.
Blessings and God's Favor be with you M..

I am sorry I cannot remember the name, but a new gown shop just opened in buckhead at the corner of Piedmont and Peachtree Roads behind the container store. Evidently this intersection is becoming quite the area for wedding gowns, because there are two high end new gown stores at the intersection. Anyway, the name implies this is a resell store. Maybe if you are in the area, you could ride by. It is beside the Tuesday mornings.

As a matter of fact- an upscale wedding dress consignment shop just opened(within the last 3 months) in Buckhead. It is on the corner of Peachtree Rd and Piedmont Rd- in the same shopping center as The Container Store and Tuesday Morning. I drive past it several times a day but can not remember the name of it. So the safest time to drive over there, without calling, would be Tues-Sat 10am- 5pm.
Good luck!

M.,

Your wedding gown sounds gorgeous. Isn't it funny how much time, energy, hope and excitement goes into wearing our gowns, and then the wedding day is done before we even know it? Mine is still preserved in one of those memory boxes, complete with the gloves, crinoline skirt and veil. Just for kicks, I've thought about taking it out and seeing what condition it's in.

eBay might be a place for you to sell your gown. But M., I will also say that there are many, many women who could benefit from your gown, but probably couldn't pay anything for it. These women are getting married, but because of different events in their lives, they don't have the resources to enjoy a beautiful gown on this most special day of theirs. Had you ever thought of donating it?

Just a thought. Do what's best for you. I just thought I'd put the possibility out there for you.
