Has anyone been to Disney World (FL) during Halloween? If so, is it worth purchasing the separate tix to see the Halloween show/parade in Disney or are there other activities that are just as good while being less expensive? TIA

What can I do next?

Just got back from WDW. The special Halloween nights (mickey's not so scarry Halloween ) require that you buy a special ticket (adult ticket is around $60) and give you (and a limited number of ticket holders) access to the Magic Kingdom for the evening. The hours do vary a little--I think the ticketholders could come from 5 pm to midnight and the park is closed to regular patrons & season ticket holders at 7 pm. So for about 6 or 7 hours, people with the special tickets get the park to themselves for rides, a special Halloween parade (which is cute) and special Halloween fireworks. Also there is a lot of trick or treating throughout the Magic Kingdom park. Many people wear costumes, but that is not required. The best part is that you can basically walk on to all the rides you with with little or no waiting! If you were going to purchase a Halloween ticket in lieu of a regular park admission ticket, then it is probably worth it. If you were buying a park ticket for the day and then a Halloween ticket on top of that, it would be very expensive, and a very long day. We have season passes, so we are required to buy the Halloween pass in addition if we want to stay for the Halloween festivities. (There are certain days WDW gives discounts on the Halloween nights to the season passholders). The park is decorated for Halloween which you can see throughout the day and night with your regular ticket. You can see the special fireworks from certain other places at WDW if you know the time and location. We usually go to WDW in October each year. We have been to Mickey's not so scarry Halloween evening event twice, but did not go this year. (My 23 year old daughter went with her friends) Universal also has a evening Halloween program, but I don't know the costs. From the looks of the posters, it looked a lot more eerie. I have never attended that program. The weather was perfect in Orlando last week! Have fun!

Hi! We went a few years ago for Halloween and LOVED it! I would say the Mickey's not so scary Halloween party was so worth it! The park looked amazing and my daughter love it! The shows were fun, and the fireworks were really cool. We got to trick or treat w/all the characters too. Lots of fun! Have a great time!

I was at the park for the Halloween event but didn;t purchase the tickets to stay (and was pleasantly escorted out of the park promptly at 7). It sure looked like it was going to be a great event and being Disney, you can pretty much guarentee it will be great. However there were 7 of us and with normal park admission plus the added admission to this event it would of cost us over $700 just for admission for both. I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much money. But if your not buying admission during the day, then it would probably be worth it.

We did this 2 years ago and had a great time. My husband took our older children to the Not So Scary Boo Parade at night and did rides and dancing. They each got a great sack of candy to bring home. We figured we wouldn't be back to Disney very soon and we splurged for the extra tickets. My children and husband loved this part of the trip. Worth every penny.

I guess it depends on the age of your children, be we've done Halloween at Disney and my kids LOVED it! It was so worth it! They loved trick or treating at Mickey and Minnie's and all the craft activities. They even have a child appropriate Haunted House. It was so much fun. Besides, the weather is nice there that time of year. In addition, there are NO lines! We've been there three times with our kids, and Halloween was by far the best!

If money is an issue, I would not. Just came back from there and was
not very impressed. Cute absolutely. Worth the money, no. The
parade is only 10 minutes long. Trick or treating. It is throughout the park,
at various "stations." I just thought $110 for me and my husband was
alot of money for no much of anything.
