ABOUT ME:
Stay at home mom to a 15 month old
I lean politically to the left (I'm from Stockton, CA a darn bay area hippy)
Interests: food, eating healthy, politics, classic movies, vegetable & flower gardening, feminism, natural hair, pinups and hotrods, Punk & Hip Hop, I don't keep up with kardashians, I do keep up with Breaking Bad and the HBO shows GIRLS and The Ricky Gervais show.

Hello,
I'm 26 years old and I live in a town that is my boyfriends world. I moved back to this small place called Porterville that's practically off the face of the earth to most people in CA. I moved back upon getting pregnant and now that my daughter is 15 months i'm struggling with the fact that i've lost contact with practically everyone I know (excluding family). llosing those contacts I feel thought i've lost my own identity.

So... I thought i'll take to the internet and since mamapedia has always been a safe and sane sight I thought I would start with the ladies here. I don't have a facebook account anymore and I really do not want to sign up for one or any other dating/friendship meetup site. I'd rather meet like minded people on websites that I frequent and actually have a personal connection too.

What I would like?
1. I'd like to share- opinions, thoughts, old stories, current events etc...
2. If your not comfortable giving out a lot of personal information over the internet that is fine neither am I.

Hope to start email-palin' with some of you soon

XOXO

Happy Thursday!

Well if you're a "hippy" who "leans to the Left", you may want to change your profile description then. "Cooky Conservative" is, um, not so Left, you know?

Teehehe. Jk, as my daughter would say!

What's wrong with FB, I have quite a few MMP moms as FB friends. Pretty cool.

:)

(I should also mention, I've struck up quite a few cyber-friendships with members of THIS board just by sending them a private message telling them I loved their response/post)

FB is an option. Also, what about some Mom's playgroups? YOur daughter is starting to get a bit older and I'll bet there are other Mom's in your area in a similar situation. How about your neighbors? Time to branch out and make some brownies and get to know ya? I know it can be tough and isolating but it will be ok. Look for a MOPS group (Mother of Preschool) don't let the name deceive you..this group is for Mom's of kids that haven't reached kindergarten yet or Mother's and More.

I also have a 15 month old! (She just turned 15 months today) I am much like you in the fact that I don't know or talk to many people in my local area. It can get hard and very lonely!

I so feel your pain being stuck in Porterville! Whilst I'm not from there myself I do have family that is and boy is it a one horse type of place. You've got quite a bit of courage to stick yourself in such a place. Hehe. :) I'm not sure what that city has to offer but I'm sure you can venture out to see what/if there is anything that would be interesting to you.

I love the show GIRLS among a few others on HBO & a few other networks. I am liberal with a touch of conservative thrown in on rare occasions. I would definitely seek out anything/anyone you find interesting. I know how it feels to feel as though you've lost your own identity. I'm more than open to being an email pal.

I hope you're able to find whatever or whomever fits you. :D

I also have a 15 month old, except he's a boy :P I moved away from my hometown and family about 8 months ago. I lean more toward the right but have several common interests with you. I'm definitely short on the friend-front, so feel free to msg me :)

Hi,
I used to live in Stockton and moved last year to a smaller city. I know what you mean by being lonely. I have a toddler and I work so I feel like I don't have a social life, either.

Feel free to contact me.
