So I have 2 kids now, and ever since the first one, it aches down there during my period. Never had this before childbirth. Any ideas? Anyone else have this, and does it go away on it's own, or did you do something to make it go away?

What can I do next?

Mine are worse after both my kids and I get a throbbing sensation when I use tampons, I try to not use them unless I have to. I did get the throbbing in late my last pregnancy and thought it was the increased blood flow to the area.I also get headaches that I never used to, I am off the Pill now and I was on it constantly before so maybe that is a reason why too.

If the aches are more like pains - similar to the early stages of labor it could be your uterous is trying to get something out. I had a polyp that caused severe pains curing my period. My doc did an ultrasound to find it and a D&C with a scope to remove it.

sister you have what is commonly call cramps. welcome to womanhood. if you never had them before you were blessed. your body has and will change drastically after you have children. if you are worried it might be something else, schedule an appt with your gynie. Otherwise, a heating pad, midol or aspirin and wait it out. It will pass.

You should probably see your gynecologist. Could be minor or serious. best to get it checked out.

Yes, mine aches sometimes when I am on my period ( I have three kids). Probably because you had two kids and your pelvic floor muscles are weaker than before you had kids. If you try to do some Kegel exercises that will make that muscle stronger down there and maybe make it ache less.

Interesting question...I'm having my second period since giving birth 14 months ago, and I keep wondering why my uterine area feels completely irritable since it started. I've been having normal cramps, but also the achy feeling pretty much constantly. Maybe this is normal?

A friend of mine just went through something like this. Turned out that it only stopped after her doctor did a D&C to make sure her uterus was clean out. She said it is gone now. They think that maybe something just did not pass on it's on. I hope you find an answer to fix this for you.

I think you should talk to you your DR. about the ache, it probley is nothing but it sucks that you have to deal with something like this.

Apparently this is normal. I have read some of the other responses that say they have it to. SO DO I!!!

My periods have completely changed since having my little one...they are heavier, hurt more and I am more tired. Needless to say I think that everyone is different when it comes to good ole Mother Nature, but you may want to speak with your doctor about it just in case!

I get really achey down there during my period sometimes, especially if I stand for any period of time while doing an activity. For me it feels like there's a lot of pressure down there. I don't know - could be vericose veins or something like that. Mine's definitely period related but doesn't happen every period and is definitely mostly aggrivated by a standing activity which could just be preparing dinner. Mention it to your doctor or even just call up there and talk to a nurse. It's probably not uncommon or anything serious, just another annoyance but she can reassure you or give you a recommendation whether you should talk to or see your doctor.
