Tire Swing

Does anyone know where in the Denver area I could find an older playground that has one of those old fashioned tire swings. Like the ones that hang parallel to the ground and have 3 chains connecting it to the top bar. The kind that you can spin around on. Anyone?

What can I do next?

Rocky Mountain Lake Park at 46th & Irving (just West of Federal) has one, assuming I'm understanding what you're asking for. I accidentally made my daughter throw up from spinning too much when she was 2 or 3 so this one definitely spins.

happy swinging / spinning.

The playgroud at Utah Park in Aurora has one of these tire swings. The park is located on Peoria, north of Iliff, between Jewell and Mexico.

I am not in Denver either but if your are near the southern end of Denver this might help. Cherry Knolls Park in Centennial has one of those swings. It is a nice park with a great playground, soccer & baseball fields and is along the Highline canal path. The creek that runs next to the canal path is also great for children that are big enough to wade the creek trying to catch minnows and crayfish. The park is located near the new Streets at SouthGlenn at University and Arapahoe Road. You can find its exact location by visiting the South Suburban Parks and Rec website (http://www.ssprd.org).

We started going to this park when my children were in playgroups. We are now there frequently for soccer practices and creek wading.

O'Kane park, which is technically Lakewood, but less than a mile from Denver city limits, has one . . . not sure what part of town you are in. O'Kane is on 1st Ave between Sheridan and Wadsworth.

Hi H., well, it's not exactly Denver but up in Georgetown, there is a WONDERFUL playground about 2 blocks east of the main street that has exactly what you are looking for. As a bonus, your kids will absolutely love the entire playground. And another bonus. . . the shop on the corner that makes homemade ice cream. Yum!!!
