Hi mama's... need some suggestions.
We don't eat a whole lot of fish, but i am going to make some fish sticks for the kids... what is the a good kind to get?
I think if i can find a good kind, they might be a success with my kiddos. Thanks mamas!

Have a great weekend!

Costco sells ones called Ultimate fish sticks and they are minimally process and yummy. I think they are made by Trident. I love them. Use them for fish tacos or eating alone. as a matter of fact, we are having them for dinner tonight!

Oh, Trader Joes also has some really good fish filets.....which we even like better than fish sticks. :-)

My kids like the ones I make myself. I use tilapia. I use crushed up corn flakes and add a little onion powder or Mrs. Dash or other spices with it. I cut the chicken and dip it in water or milk and then in the corn flake mixture and bake them for 10 or 15 minutes. Yummy!

My favorite is the cod fillets from Sams club!! They are not sticks though. My 1, 3 and 5 year old LOVE them.

If I but fish sticks I ONLY buy the ones from fillets DO NOT BUY FISH STICKS FROM MINED FISH. I do not like the taste and will not eat them myself.

Good luck...my kids like ranch with their fish sticks

We love Mrs Paul's XXL fish sticks. I usually buy about 1 box per month & the kids & I will have them on a night my husband is working overtime & I just feel too beat to actually cook anything. They're nice & crispy on the outside & a bit bigger (duh, thus the XXL label) than regular skinny little fish sticks.

Dr. Pragers are good. My daughter eats them no problem.

And you can make your own nuggest by just using breadcrumbs. Let them dip them in applesauce.

My girlfriend did benefits for a fish processing company and had to take a tour one day.... she said NEVER buy any fish w/ minced anywhere on the package. She couldn't eat fish for about 3 months after that tour!!

We buy the talapia (SP?) fish from Costco w/ the lime flavor.... can't get enough of it!!

We like Gorton's fish sticks too, but what my kids like even more is Tilapia fillets, breaded in panko crumbs. We get ours from the frozen food section at Costco. I think the brand is Trident. My son BEGS me to make Tilapia for him.

The only frozen fish we have ever liked is made by Trident brand. When we lived in Tucson we could get it at Costco, but now that we are in Iowa we just have to go without. :-(

Mrs. Paul's flounder filets. Then I cut each filet into 3 'sticks' after they are baked. :)

Gordons. It's not that yucky minced fish, but more like flakes. The shrimp is good too.
