go to wallmart (or anything like it) and go to the pharmacy area. Look for the athelets foot cream and get the odor eaters spray. Works a charm.

My husband had problems with rank smelling sandals. He would set them out on the back porch at night to "air-out". Well, believe it or not, someone STOLE them! Guess that solved our problem!

Ok, seriously...I saw this article on Oprah's website:

"In the same Ask Dr. Oz show, Kelsey from California shared an embarrassing problem. "My feet are super stinky," she said. "I've tried wearing just open-toed shoes, and I wash my feet all the time in the shower. Nothing works."

Dr. Oz suggested a simple home remedy for Kelsey—soaking her feet in tepid iced tea. "The tannic acid in the tea will actually tan your foot a little bit, which will dry it out," he said. "That's helpful in reducing the amount of sweat, and the odor as well."

In just a few weeks, Kelsey says her smelly feet have undergone a drastic change. "Since the show, my life has totally changed. Not only did I get a haircut, but my feet don't smell anymore," she says. "Thank you, Dr. Oz, from the bottom of my sole!"

Dr. Oz says the secret to Kelsey's success is the tannic acid—which dries out the skin—but a few other simple remedies can help, too. "An open-toed shoe, ideally. Wear socks that are absorbent," he says. "But for a lot of folks, the only way to do it is to really dry it out."

Here's a trick that I learned in Brazil when I wore sandals day in and day out. In that heat and humidity, there was no escaping an overwhelmingly pungent odor!
This is Brazilian wisdom here. Soak them in vinegar! It sounds like the opposite of what you'd want to do, but it really does work. The vinegar smell fades pretty quickly afterward, too.
And as a side-note, my sister's dog kept getting sprayed by a skunk, about twice a week. They bought tomato juice by the boatload, and it was getting expensive. Not to mention that it turned the dog (a yellow lab) pink for a few days! She tried the vinegar and it worked! It was much cheaper, and no pink dog!

Make sure he stays out of water in them, that is the number one cause of stinky shoes and feet. Try putting baking soda in his shoes to air them out over night. I know my son can get stinky feet from his shoes fast but it is typically from them getting wet and drying back out and from then on they are nasty smelling.

Are they from Payless Shoe Source, by any chance? I swear, every pair of sandals I have ever gotten there make my feet stink to high heaven! Other than making him wear another pair of shoes, or socks with the sandals (and who wants to do that when it's hot?), you might be stuck with the smell. You could try washing the sandals in the washer and see if that helps...good luck. Stinky feet are the worst!

if they are cheap shoes throw them out you can try anything in the world and it wont get rid of the smell. Buy shoes that are natural products I have two boys and I have learned that cheap shoes will make your house smell.

i think that it is just the boy in him!! HA HA no really boys just seem to have extra body*--*foot odor . my suggestion would be to make sure that at the end of the day you let the feet air dry --no shoes no socks. and if you have the need to put socks on him you could add cornstartch--baby powder--inside them .

I've had sticky feet all my life. I've tried baby powder to deodorant on my feet; but never got good results. If they are payless or cheap walmart shoes they always made everyone I know feet stink. My sister will still buy shoes from there and omg she knew how to clear the house. If they are I would try different brands or try to wash them but no guarantee.

Cindy, several women have said that Payless, Walmart and cheap shoes will end up stinky. That is true, but I also had an expensive pair of Doc Marten's for my daughter when she was little and they ended up very stinky too! I don't know why a sandal would end up that stinky, she never got them wet, her feet were washed every day in her bath, I could never figure it out. I ended up replacing them with another pair and they did the same thing. They were made out of leather too. I am interested in finding out what all of the advice is going to be that you get.

We rotate shoes. One son uses a pair every 3 days. It's not as expensive as it sounds as he's very h*** o* shoes anyway, so we're not really purchasing extras. Rotating gives the shoes a chance to dry out and not grow stinky stuff.
