Has any had stamped concrete done at their homes? Who have you used? Were you happy? We are looking at having a patio but in. I have seen the names of ACS and Absolute concrete and outdoors -has anyone used them?
Thank you! I get nervous about big projects like this.

What can I do next?

Hi D.,
My husband worked for a commercial concrete contractor for years. Nowadays, he and the owner of the company do residential side jobs - and stamped concrete is certainly something they do. If you are interested in a bid, let me know your contact info and I will have my husband get ahold of you. I can tell you that they typically come in below other bids, because they run this business as a side business and not thru the main commercial company so they have all the benefits of the commercial crews, but no overhead. Let me know! Good luck. PS - if you are interested in having it stained or colored in addition to the the stamping, they can do that too.

I had issues with ACS. I would not use them.

A few years ago I hired a company to do this for the business I was managing. One of the things I learned through talking to various concrete contractors is that because they do a concrete "overlay" it runs the risk of cracking through the freeze/thaw Kansas winters. This obviously made me nervous b/c I didn't want to spend that kind of money on something that may not wear well. Whatever you decide on make sure to talk to several contractors. Make sure they are licensed and insured. Check them out on the better business bureau and don't forget to check their references. If the company is reputable they should be more than willing to provide you with many references. I would check some of the more recent ones and also (due to the freeze/thaw comment above) I would request some for work that was done several years ago. Make sure to talk to them about what type of warranty they provide on their work. You don't always want to go with the cheapest guy, there may be a reason they are super cheap. Find a company w/ a good reputation that has been around for awhile and make sure that you fully understand the process that they are going to go through. Bottom line, if you are not comfortable with the people, the price, the warranty or the process don't go with them. Trust your instinct and check the company out thoroughly before you begin.

Good luck!

We had a large patio put in last spring. We used Classic Concrete Design. John Mahler is the owner and his number is ###-###-#### and his website is http://www.classicconcretedesigns.com/index.html. They were fast and professional. I never felt uncomfortable with the employees. My husband was pleased they didn't tear up the yard or leave a mess. We got bids from 2 companies and liked Classic Concrete best but they were a little more expensive. My husband was able to talk him down to the same price as the other bid. Good luck!
