Hi Everyone!
I did a stupid thing. I took off those gel clings from our windows and put them on our wood table until I could put them on their appropriate plastic sheets. When I took them off, several of the clings had stained the table!!! I have tried vinegar, glass plus, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, Murphy's Oil Soap. The Magic Erasers did little, everything else did NOTHING!!! Does anyone have a suggestion out there? I remember my mom having used a product years ago called "Goo Gone" for similar types of things--but I don't know fi it would work, and I certainly don't know if it is even produced anymore. Any help would be great.

Goo Gone is available in hardware stores and probably in dept. stores. It seems like that would dissolve the residue, but you might still have a stain. Then, you might try lightly sanding the area and applying a new finish material in the closest possible match to the color.

Did they stain the table? Peel off the laquer? or did they leave goo residue? and they do still make Goo be gone. But I'm not sure I would use it on a wood table, it may take the polyuethane or the finish off.
Yes A. Goo-Gone is still produced, but like you I'm not sure it will work but you can give it a shot.
Icky Sticky Stuff Remover! That's really what it's called. I got it at Stop & Shop. It is amazing. Basically it is orange oil. Hope it works for you.

I don't know how to help - but wanted to warn about the suggestion to try alcohol - I hope it works, but alcohol is a solvent for certain types of wood finishes - so try just a dab in an inconspicuous area first, because it may dissolve your finish.
Goo Gone is still around! I always have a bottle on hand =) You can find it just about anywhere these days (i.e. cvs, supermarket etc). I'd give it a try. Good luck!
I just bought Goo Gone recently at Walmart. I use it at school to remove tape from desks. It works great for that. It's worth a try.
Goo gone is still around! They have other products that are the same thing but with a different name. If none of those work I would say restain the table!
I've used Goo gone on my table before and it hasn't taken off the finish, but I don't think it would get rid of your stain. Try rubbing alcohol. This removes permanent marker and almost any kind of ink stain from furniture. I have used it on my wood table when my daughter took a sharpie to it and it worked fine and didn't damage the table (test a small spot first). I have also used it when when had a pink piece of paper become wet on my counter tops and leave a huge stain that nothing else would remove. Good luck!
Goo B Gone...just bought a bottle @ the christmas tree shops..i wouldnt think that would get the stain out...just a sticky residue from a price tag...those gel clings almost seem to have an oil like substance on them....maybe if you just polish your table over time it will just blend in?
Goo Gone still exists...worth a try. I think you can buy it almost anywhere.
Try toothpaste, (something like Crest). I got some stains (I think water rings) off with it.
I have goo gone and it's GREAT. I don't think I bought it that long ago and I believe I still see it in stores.
