Shawl or Cover for Breastfeeding in Public

I bought one at Target...can't remember what it's called, though, sorry. It fit like a shawl and had a ring near one shoulder so you could adjust it. It worked beautifully.

I loved my Hooter Hider! I bought it at a local store but I'm sure you can find them online.

I honestly thought they were gimmick-y and a waste when it was given to me but I quickly fell in love since you can peak in and see the baby while still having both hands free and stay covered....really nice for a new nursing Mom who is still learning with her baby.

They have boneing at the top that allows you to make eye contact with baby and nothing be seen LOVED mine :)

I second what Kristine M said. I have a bebe au lait that I got at Babies R Us. I love it. I used to just use a large piece of cloth but my little guy like to grab the cover and try to take it off. This cover prevents him from doing so.

find a bib that doesnt look too crazy, and put it around your neck for the cover.

All you need, is a piece of fabric. A rectangle, that is whatever length you want.
Then, sew on a neck loop. And make it as long or short as you want.
Just like on a cooking apron.
Its not that complicated.

No matter what, covered or not, you need to check the latch or nursing of you baby. So you just lift up the apron corner and look at baby.
Or look down from the neck area of the apron.

All I used was a rectangle piece of fabric.
Sewed up the edges.
Then I sewed on a neck loop.
That's it.

I just use a long cotton scarf that way it doesn't slip off like a blanket. The best are ones that are wider, most I have gotten pretty cheap at old navy. All the covers I have tried were either awful fabric or I could see my baby.

I had an udder cover and had no problems with it. I did not have a more expensive brand to compare it to, but I would recommend it. I also had a First years brand nursing wrap, but only used it once. I was not a fan of the fabric. I preferred the thin cotton that the Udder Cover was.

A few good nursing tops are the best, easy and discreet.
All those so called nursing "covers" just draw MORE attention to what you are doing IMO.

Bebe au Lait or Hooter Hider (same thing, different name). Do NOT get an Udder Cover or other imitation. I had 2 - one to wash and one to use and as long as I hung to dry and washed on delicate they held up with FREQUENT use up through toddlerhood. Loved them. You can also shift it over one shoulder so you're covered, but can get a better view. I got one on their website and one as a gift.

definitely the bebe au lait (aka hooter hider). if you (or someone you know) can sew well, you can make it really easily for A LOT less money.
