Seeking Satellite Company

I'm interested in switching from Cable to Satellite. I've been with Time Warner for ever and it's getting really expensive. Since I've started falling behind on my cable bill, I was considering changing to something cheaper and wondered if satellite is the way to go. I've never had satellite before and I know I'll probably be confused with the different # channels at first. Does anyone have any good suggestions on which company is good and not pricey. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Dish Network (I think that's what it is called.) Loved it! Never raised the prices on us in 3 years---it was great! Great service, worked just like the regular channels....wished we had stayed. It is true that the signal from satellite is fuzzy or non-existent in really bad weather. I think we had 4 evenings of not getting a signal in 3 years due to bad storms. No biggie.

But my husband wanted to to package phone and TV and computer and decided to go to AT & T. I hate it. The internet took over a month to finally work the kinks out of the connections. The phone now has a loud buzz on the line after you talk for about 10 minutes! And they charged us for the entire time and won't adjust our bill. And they just raised the price even though we are in a 2 year contract. (They can do that if you read all the stupid fine print.) And technical support is horrible---you can never speak to a person that speaks English. I hope AT & T people are reading this......

Go DISH Network, R..

We have had Dish Network for about 5 years, and I love it. We had so much trouble with Time Warner and the price was always going up but we have had no problems with Dish. It's easy to use and the staff is helpful. Give them a try....

I have to say satellite was okay and I HATED timewarner but the best one out there right now is AT&T UVERSE. I know they have different packages out there but the UVERSE package is wonderful. I pay about 125 every month and that is with every single channel including all the movie channels and wireless internet throughout the house. I have never had a problem with them in the three years that we have used them. And they are super quick to help you with whatever you need, and they come out real quick to get you connected. Check them out. I would never use anyone else.
