I'm new to MN and just recently to Maple Grove. Does anyone have any suggestions for a great female ob/gyn in this area? I also like to see Nurse Practitioners in the same office. If I become pregnant again, I would probably deliver at North Memorial so they would need privledges there. Thanks for the help.

What can I do next?

Highly recommend OGI; Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility with an office in the West Health Building technically in Plymouth but off 494 & 55 not far from Maple Grove. They can work from North Memorial which is where we chose to deliver. I believe all of the four women doctors are partners at the firm so they have a strong investment in the practice. Their number is ###-###-#### in Plymouth. Their website is www.obgynmn.com

My primary doctor is Amy Brown but I have seen all four woman; Dr. Lisa Baker, Dr. Stephanie Rice and Dr. Jennifer Arnhold. All are super women. Dr. Brown just had her third child so may not be available right now for new appointments. Very resourceful, listened to my needs, supported my husband's and my decisions and preferences, etc.

My father-in-law was one of the founding partners and has since retired. Dr. J. would tell you the woman he and the remaining partners hired over the years are some of the best in the business. He even will say that he feels the woman doctors at his clinic do a better job today with their clients than the men did when they first opened it years and years ago.

I am a mommy to a 2 year old (as of yesterday), have a blood clotting condition, and I can attest to their skills and compassion. I know it is not my status as the daughter-in-law of a past partner that gets me the special treatment because several friends now go there as does someone from my office and they all get the same treatment.

Good luck.
D.

I second the vote for OGI; Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility with an office in the West Health Building technically in Plymouth but off 494 & 55 not far from Maple Grove.

My primary doctor is also Amy Brown but I have seen Dr. Jennifer Arnhold as well as many of the Nurse Practioners (for Ultrasounds and other issues). They are very compasionate and I will say they do treat all their patients very well.

Not sure if you are interested in a midwife? If so, I agree with the previous post and recommend Kathrine Simon, CNM. She is set to deliver my second child and I LOVE her. She always takes her time with me, runs on times for appointments and I love her demeanor. She is easy going and I can say anything I need to her. She does deliver at N.Memorial too.

Hope this helps and you find a good doctor!

I don't know of a good obgyn in maple grove but I do know one that was great and delivers at North Memorial. Dr Shannon Harris she works out of Oakdale obgyn, The Office ias located next to North on the 4th floor. I just had a baby and I saw her she was great I ended up having a c-sec and I healed so quickly. She is easy to talk to and listens to you. She never seems to be in a rush and most times she is on time.
Good luck,
K.

I'm not sure if they have rights to delivery at North Memorial... however I was going to Park Nicollet (Maple Grove) and suggest them they were very on top of everything.
My nurse practitioner was Dr Graber (she is amazing) I was having some risk factors in my preg. and she made sure to double check everything, they worked me in for ultrasounds and secondary appts and even called me at home. I only had to transfer because it was a longer drive from work which was when my appt normally are. Good luck and congrats

Kathrine Simon is great, she's a Midwife. She delivered all three of my babies and I never felt rushed...I even see her for other things besides my OB-GYN things. www.northmetromidwives.com
