we are relocating to minnetonka and need a good peditician or family practice doc in the area. my second son has multiple food allergy issues, and though he sees a GI specialist at the U of M for his eosinophilic esophagitis, we need a doc in the neighborhood for check ups who can keep a overall eye on his health. I typically like clinics with urgent care or after hour care options so we can be seen easily if someone gets sick. any suggestions?

What can I do next?

We live in Minnetonka as well. I take my children to the Park Nicollet in Chanhassen. They have seen all of the pediatritians and we have liked them all, but they primarily see Dr. Rosen. We love her! I have also heard that the pediatritians at the Park Nicollet in Minnetonka (off Carlson PKWY) are good too. I have friends that take their children there.

We go to South Lake Pediatrics, which has several locations in the west metro area. We chose it because my midwife recommended it and uses it for her own kids.
Here is a link that shows they have an urgent care at one of the branches.

I second the recommendation of Southlake Pediatrics! They have lots of locations in the west metro, quite a few with walk-in clinics and afterhours urgent care, all staffed by their pediatricians, so you see people you know. We go to the Minnetonka location at 62 and 494 and I really like the staff there!

I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, can not say enough good things about, Dr. Matthew Segedy at South Lake Peds. He works out of the Plymouth office (55 & 494) and the Minnetonka Office (Hwy 101 & Hwy 7... I think those are the cross streets anyway). He is amazing with kids and never makes you feel rushed. I have almost three year old twins and an almost four month old baby. My twins love Dr. Segedy so much that if they hurt themselves they often say, "I need to see the doctor." What kid actually wants to see their doctor? The other thing I love about Dr. Segedy is that he's in his early 40s so he's been a doctor for awhile but he's young enough that my kids will be able to see him for a long time.

We go to Partners In Pediatrics in the West Health Bldg. in Plymouth. It is on Hwy 44 & 494. It is nice because if you ever get a referral to a Allergist, ENT, whatever, chances are there is one in the building. And of course there is Urgent Care onsite. All the docs at P.I.P are great.

I agree on the recommendations for Partners in Pediatrics. We go to their West Health office in Plymouth for scheduled appointments and daytime urgent care (same day unscheduled appointments). We go a little north to Maple Grove for their evening and weekend after hours urgent care. Great staff, love them and recommend them.

I absolutley love Dr. Tonya Bryan at the Park Nicollet Clinic in Plynouth (so much so that we followed her there from 2 other clinics.)She is great with the kids, listens to my concerns, answers all my questions with respect, and is really on top of things. When my kids have had to have tests run she calls me at home with results instead of making me wait for an appointment or going through the mail. When my daughter was in the hospital for 2 days she called us at home to check on how she was doing both during and after the hospital stay. She's great!

I delivered at Methodist and the doctor there recommended Dr. Renner Anderson off of Carlson Parkway. He's in the Park Nicollet Clinic behind the Carlson Towers. The actual address is Twelve Oaks Blvd, I believe. He's wonderful and very thorough. The phone # is ###-###-####.

I've been bringing my kids to Partners in Pediatrics for years now and we love it. They have an office in Plymouth (55 and 494) and I think another one in Uptown. Their website is www.pipstop.com. Check them out :)

I'm not sure about Minnetonka, but there is a branch for Partners in Pediatrics at WestHealth at 55 and 494 in Plymouth. They have ReadyCare- you can walk in for appointments anytime during the designated hours. I don't have the # offhand, but I'm sure it's listed!

Good morning, D.!

I take my two year old son to a wonderful clinic in Plymouth, Partners in Pediatrics (PIP) - Hwy. 55 in the West Health building. They not only have a clinic in Plymouth there are ones in Maple Grove, Uptown, Robbinsdale, Rogers, and Brooklyn Park. The Maple Grove clinic is open in the evenings and on weekends, as well as each of the clinics have walk-in hours daily. There are close to 30 pediatricians to choose from, plus a number of physician assistants, pediatric nurse practitioners, a registered dietician, lactation educators, and sports medicine doctor. Your child can also be a patient of PIP into their twenties! I see Dr. Savitt and I have a number of friend's who see Dr. Kuperman, Dr. Bach, Dr. Evans, Dr. Klein, and Dr. Mettille. Check out their website at www.pipstop.com (you will also find each of the clinic's contact information on the website). I hope this information helps you... Good luck!
