My 8 year old daughter (soon to be 9) wants to be able for her and her friends to have manicures and pedicures for her birthday. Does anyone know of a salon that would be good with kids? Not to expensive and preferably not to far away, North Pinellas County would be great because I thought when they were done they could swim and have pizza, cake and presents before being picked up.
Try Sweet and Sassy, their site is www.sweetandsassy.com. My daughter went there with her Brownie troop and she is really not into makeovers and getting her hair done. Her idea of high style is wearing basketball shorts and long t shirts, but when she got home, she couldn't wait to go back.
I don't know if you have one near you but here in tampa we have Sweet and Sassy. It's a beauty salon specifically for girls. They can get manis, pedis, they get their hair styled. They also have great birthday party options where the girls get to pick out an outfit and put on a fasion show. Check them out and see if there's one near you.
Have you checked out "Divas & Dudes" at Countryside Mall? I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but her age would be PERFECT for what they provide!
Jade Nails on Tampa Road (in the Amscot bldg by Chick FilA) treats little girls nicely - you can request just nail polish rather than full manis/pedis - it was just $5 for my niece.

Not sure on the price but they aren't expensive on any of the other services I have had. All the girls are very nice in there and I have seen them dressing up a few girls for a father~daughter dance last time I was in there. They have spray and temp tattoos which may be fun for them too!
