I am looking for a church in the woodbury area. I am looking for an Evangelical free, non demoninational or even methodist. I went to an evagelical free church growing up and loved it. But it is very clicky. We were memebers at advant united methodist in eagan but that is just to far to drive for sunday mornings and the paster left that was there when we were active. I am looking for a church with a good choir, women's groups and child activites. I need a church that is open to new people and not clicky. I'm looking for a long term church to raise my family in. Please help. Any idea will help! oh and I am not Catholic. there is a lot of catholic churchs in my area.

What can I do next?

Hi K.,
My husband and I attend Woodbury United Methodist and love it. It has tons of small group, service and outreach opportunities. It's very family centered and very open and welcoming worship environment. They also have pre-school and a Mom's Day Away program. We recently joined as members and had our daughter baptised there - nothing but good things to say.

We were involved at Five Oaks Church (on radio drive)We loved the women's and children's ministy programs but never felt comfortable enough to join. We have heard great things about Crossroads in Cottage Grove(we have been many times but have not committed to joining). They are going to be building there new church on the border of CG and Woodbury off of 19.

There is a church On white Bear Avenue in saint paul called woodland Hills church. Techincally it is on the border of Saint Paul and Maplewood. It is a nondenominational church. We love attending. My husband was not very religious or to keen on attending church but the first time I had him hear the pastor of Woodland hills speak he was hooked. I really love the youth programs they have set up there. During the sunday services they have an area called kids connection where the kids can go. Its like church run sunday child care center and the curriculum(yes they have that!) is faith based. This past fall the introduced a curriculum based on The veggie tales. The kids connection goes from infancy to grd 5. When you register your kids for kids connection you will get a card that has a number and in the main worship hall they have smalls screens that are dedicated to flashing a childs number if the parent is needed. They also are very secure You need to have your kids connection card to drop your child off and to pick them up. The grade school and higher aged youth program are great. They really try to incorporate what the kids are into today to keep them interested in there faith in God. We even have a group that goes to the big sturgis motorcycle event to share their faith. thats about all I can say now I don't want to make this too long. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Not sure how far you want to drive but I am a worship leader at our church in Stillwater. North Lakes Community Church. It is small and everyone is like a big family. NOT clicky though. We are about 100 members so IT IS SMALL. I love it. I think we have a womens small group, but if you sing, and you want to get involved, I know who to talk to...ME:) We have a worship team but not big enough for a choir right now. Also a big group of people always go out to lunch together after church on Sunday afternoons. We are very close knit and a really genuine group of people, and very welcoming of new people. We have a children's Sunday School program called Promiseland, and a nursery with just 2 babies - my daughter and 1 other little boy. We could use more little ones to play with! We have several small groups. Anyway something to think about.
