Hello,

My family and I are moving to Oak Park in May, and am seeking referrals for home-based daycares and pediatricians. I have the early childhood resource directory, but its nice to get more personal referrals -- any you have would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Dr. Locke and Dr. Uchitelle at 7411 Lake St. in River forest ###-###-####. I have a toddler and we have been with Dr. Locke since he was born. It's a great family practice.

Welcome to Oak Park! I do have a couple of home daycare referrals, but will have to e-mail them to you when I'm at home so that I can send phone numbers.

For pediatricians, I was disappointed in Ad-Park Pediatrics and would recommend that you not go there. We currently go to Pedios on Chicago Ave. Their hours are better, the waits are short, the doctors are all good (my sons see Dr. Claus.) But they do only take PPO insurance, no HMOs.

I go to Dr Sudha Shah on Devon street in chicago. She understands indian customs and culture and is very patient, understanding, and takes her time with you. She has a very busy practice and is well known. We live in Des Plaines but drive all the way there because she is worth the drive.
