Good morning, ladies! I am so frustrated and need your advise or assistance. I have been having issues with Bacterial vaginosis since I had my son 3 years ago. I stopped seeing my gynecologist and switched to a family doctor for convenience about 6 months after I had my son. The MD I am seeing would just prescribe antiobiotics every time I would come in with an infections which is about every 2 -3 months. I have been having this issue for about 2 1/2 years now. We finally decided to proceed with an IUD because I was having heavy periods as well. So on Jan 13th I had my IUD inserted and I have had 2 infections since...yes that 2 infections in less than a month. I am so frustrated and feel like I continue to throw money out the window. At this point I feel like they are just handing me prescriptions but not trying to figure out why I keep getting these. My husband and I are faithful to each other. Yes I have been tested for STD's and I have none. I finally gave up yesterday and called my old gynecologist and she agreed to see me. I was told that I am just going to have to tough it out. This really offended me! Do any of you ladies have a gynecologist that you really like that listens to your concerns? Has anyone ever been through this? It is really started to affect me and my self esteem! For those of you who have had BV before you can understand why!!! I appreciate any advise.

What can I do next?

S., I also see Dr Ezman at Creekside Womens's Care. I would also recommend Dr. Frampton at the same office. They are both incredible. I have had nothing but great experiences with them and everyone I know that sees them says the same. I have not been through what you are going through right now and I am more than sure it is very difficult. Also, I forgot to mention but I am pretty sure they have an office in Goose Creek maybe that they are at sometimes. I wouldn't quote me on that because I am not sure but I think that I remember hearing that.

I see Dr. Christine Hunter at Lowcountry Women's Specialists, and she is wonderful...very attentive and will listen to your needs. I have also seen other docs there, and they are all very nice. They have offices in Summerville, North Charleston and Moncks Corner. Good luck wherever you decide to go, I know it's a tough decision!

If you are in the Charleston, SC area Lowcountry Women's Specialists are great. I saw Dr Ronnie Givens before using a midwife in the same practice, Tonya Bridges, for my pregnancies. He is very understanding and was comforting when I went in and found out I had had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. I have also felt comfortable enough with him to have some very frank discussions about different things in me and my husband's sex life. Hope this helps.
