Does anyone know where to purchase discounted Sea World tickets for San Antonio and a good clean hotel to stay at near there? We are planning to go in a few weeks for the first time:)

What can I do next?

Try the local hotels and grocery stores in the San Antonio area. We stayed at a Days Inn when we went about 1 month ago. It was cheap, simple, and very neat I might add. (That is very hard for me to say unless I really like things since I'm super picky especially when it comes to being clean!) Good Luck and I hope you and your family have a wonderful time.

Stay at the Hyatt or the Ramada there...they are both very nice (Hyatt is nicer).

As for tickets, try the SA Mamasource. Or you can go to grocery stores in the area to see. Sometimes the internet has discounted tickets.

I second the Drury Inn recommendation. We stayed at one a couple of years ago in San Antonio and had plenty of room for our family of 5 (baby in a pack-n-play) and it saved us tons of money on food with the hot breakfast and evening meal. The evening snacks were our dinner as our kids go to bed early so we had no late nights. They had things like pizza and taco bar, so we only ended up eating out lunch and treats. We found we didn't need to be near the Riverwalk. We only needed to go visit it once the whole trip. Have fun!

When you get to San Antonio, go to any H.E.B. grocery store. You can get discounted tickets at their customer service center. You can get season passes there for less than the cost of two visits to Sea World, which is great if you want to spend one day doing the shows and another doing the water park. Once you get to Sea World, you go through the season pass entrance where they'll take your picture and give you the carded pass that you can use to breeze by the lines the next time.

We stayed at a Drury Inn a few miles away and really enjoyed it. They have suites with a separate living room, so you can stay up late or wake up early and not wake those still sleeping. The one where we stayed, Drury Inn & Suites Northwest, had an indoor pool, free breakfast, and they even stocked the room's microwave with a bag of microwave popcorn and free sodas in the fridge, and they have evening complimentary beverages and snacks in the lobby. It's not as close but not as expensive as the Hyatt and some others closer to Sea World, and we all loved it. Some good restaurants, like Alamo Cafe, are very close.

Have fun with Shamu!
