When I am lucky enough to get my son to take a nap in the day he wakes up with lots of scratches on his body.. even his face! :( i try to swaddle him and he kicks out and im really not into the mittens. I trim his nails as short as possible but nothing seems to work. I was wondering if this is happening with other peoples children and if anyone had any suggestions. thanks

What can I do next?

my lo was the same up until about 6 months I would put socks on her hands the long kind that went up her arm. it helped alot and it did not "piss" her off either. lol she is fiesty.

How old is your baby?
If very young, they can't control their appendages or movements.
And baby nails are very thin... thus, sharp... so it scratches. Even if very short.
Maybe try mittens.

Try filing his nails also. My child did that a lot. Also, maybe you could try changing laundry detergent and use Dreft. Good luck.

Hi Julians mommy,
We had the same issue. I had to file my LO's nails once a day to keep the scratches away. I used a glass nail file which is more gentle than an emery board.
