We are going to New Hampshire later next month and we are wondering what would be good places to go with the kids. My daughter is 8 and son 4, neither is into rollercoasters and my son tends to be afraid of water some of the time. What were some of your experiences? Where do you recommend?
Thanks H.

I have been told that if you get to Storyland in the afternoon on the first day then you can get a full pass for the following day. So, if you happen to not get into Storyland the first day til late, it will help.

We have been taking both our boys age 12 and 8 to Storyland and Santa's Village for all of there lives. I think based on the age of your children and the fact they aren't daredevils I think Santa's Village might be the better choice. Storyland is wonderful and has more rides but you need to go on those rides with kids whereas Santa's Village alot of the rides they can go on alone (together) without you. Hope you have a fun trip!!

Hello H.,

I wanted to let you know that I go to North Conway every summer with my Son who is now 10. Story Land is the best take ever. It is not rollercoaster rides. There are a few rides that may be much for your Dsughterr but there are wonderful fun things like the Pirate ship ride which you board onto a boat and take the ride along this river and along the river side there are pirate treasures and lots of audio props. It is great. For your Daughter there is the cinderella experience where she gets to ride up to the castle in the pumpkin which is pulled by horses up on a hill and she gets to walk throught this castle where she will meet the prince. There are rides according to ages and the site is just simply charming...flower gardens everywhere. The best thing is that it is a whole day affair and it is cheap! I will be going up in August and my Son who will be 11 in September is still excited about going there. You will not be sorry. In addition he really loved just spending a day at the park where there is water sprinkers that he loves running through all day long. You can bring your chair and sit and watch them and have a picnic. You can also board the N. Conway train and go on a train ride up the mountain.
A little costly but still a good take. The good thing about vacationing in this area is also there is something for every budget. There are great places to eat even fast food options and best of all there is a Walmart there if you forget anything you do not have to pay a tourist price for it. Hope this was helpful. As a single Mom who most of the time robs Peter to pay Paul you get quite the bang for the buck!

Story land is great. The rides are all quite tame and there is plenty to do....a good price for all they offer too. If you go in after 3:00 your ticket will get you in the next day for free....although we've always found that one day is plenty.....
