Hello moms,

Back in the day, my close girlfriends and I would go eat at the lovely Walnut Room during the Christmas season. Now we all have little girls and want to start the tradition of bringing them with us. But getting to the city with our young ones and with all of us bring in the suburbs no longer works well. Any suggestions in the suburbs where there is a beautiful ambience during the holidays?
Thank you!!!

What can I do next?

Love the Walnut Room...but between the holiday traffic and the lines, not always the easiest thing with little ones. Is there a high end hotel near you? Frequently, they have something special for the holidays.

Please re-title your question with the city in it, and click the button that says your question is particular to your geographic reason. Otherwise those of us all over the US are not going to be any help to you at all!

After googling your town and Walnut Room I am guessing you are asking about Chicago suburbs. Here's a website from someone in your area. It looks like she puts out a nice list of ideas for the general area. She had ideas for Christmas time last year. here's her current fall suggestions http://gowestyoungmom.com/fall-harvest-festivals-chicago-.... Maybe sign up for the newletter.

What city are you near? I see you asked this question last year too - where did you go last year, can you go to the same place this year?

I live close to there and am not understanding why this is a problem? What fun it would be to hop the train in Wooddale and then go all together to the Walnut Room. My mother used to take us there on the train and it was really fun. I remember this from when I was a little girl. Just a little preparation perhaps but seriously it's only about a half hour away on the train and then maybe a bus or taxi ride.

Where do you live?
What amount of money are you willing to spend?
You want this place to be open ON Christmas day?

Atlanta has hotels that are open Christmas day. You need to book in advance.

WHERE DO YOU LIVE?!?! I don't know if you REALLY live in Illinois. If you do? I can't help you other than doing what you could do, google restaurants in the area.

Is this supposed to happen ON Christmas day or just during the holiday season?

Restaurants in DC that are open are typically associated with or in hotels. However, you MUST book in advance. Many are done a year in advance.

What are you looking for? How old are the kids that would be going? Do you want stuff for them to do? WHAT? Your question is VERY vague about what you are looking for and what you want to do.
