Recommendation for a Gynecologist

Can anyone recommend a REALLY good FEMALE Gynecologist in the Pasco County or Spring Hill area? My GYN retired a few years ago, and I have been to a couple of other doctors, but they are impersonal and seemed to want to rush in, do the exam, and rush out. While I know they are busy, I would like to feel comfortable enough to ask a question without feeling like I am compromising their whole schedule. It all just seems so impersonal. Does anyone have a GYN, gentle doctor that they really like?

What can I do next?

I jsut had my first child almost 6 months ago and I went to Dr. Shakfeh. He is a wonderful doctor, but if you prefer a female, he has an OB/GYN midwife in his office as well. Her name is Michelle Hale. They are located at the Womens Healthcare Center on the corner of Mariner Blvd and Quality Dr.(on the West side of Mariner)just about 1/4 - 1/2 mile north of County Line Rd. The office # is ###-###-####. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hey A.,
I am an RN and have experience in a professional sense with Dr Lisa Vendeland...I am not sure where her office is now..but definitely worth looking up. Also a female doctor named Dr Vila, in with Drs. M. Loman and R Smith. She is very nice. Those doctors also have a female nurse practitioner. Let me know.

I used a midwife at Dr. Umstead's office for both of my deliveries. I think I heard he has a female doctor there now also.

The Dr's I just love are both men, but they do have great Nurse Practitioners that take appointments as well. Everyone is super nice, I have never felt rushed. And with my last daughter I was a mess (emotionally) due to extreme health issues with my first who was born at 32 weeks and they were great. I also had a scare with breast cancer at 36 and they were great with helping me with the resources I needed. They are Dr Williams and Dr Goldman in New Port Richey, on Sevens Springs Blvd. If I have a choice I see Dr Goldman, he is the younger, but he is great. My 4 year old still pretends to call him on the phone after all our contact with him during my pregnancy and Sara just celebrated her 1st b-day. So that is how memorable he was for my now 4 year old.
Good Luck with your search.
