I am searching for a great recipe for veggie burgers. I would like one that uses beans as the protein instead of any other meat substitute. Thank you!

What can I do next?

Well, I swore I got a recipe off of Food Network. com for one that i have used before and it was really, really yummy, but I couldn't find it when I just looked.

I did find this one on allrecipes.com, so it's worth a shot, it sounds good to me! If you don't find a recipe you like, message me and I'll look through my recipe stash to see if I can find the original one I was thinking of!

can soy beans be the answer?, because thats all tofu is, hard tofu, crumbled, mixed with bread crumbs and lentils (add your own spices) molded then fried on both sides in olive oil.......and egg whites can help bind the ingredients, and add more protien, but its not necessary

Veggie Burger with Tahini Mayonnaise

1 can (14.5 ounces) pinto beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup plain dried breadcrumbs
4 hamburger buns, split and lightly grilled or toasted
4 scallions, thinly sliced

Veggie Burger with Tahini Mayonnaise
Serves 4 | Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 20 minutes

In a medium bowl, mix bulgur with 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt and 1 cup boiling water. Cover bowl, and let sit until bulgur is tender (but still slightly chewy), about 30 minutes. Drain in a fine-mesh sieve, pressing to remove liquid.
Place beans in a medium bowl; mash with a potato masher until a coarse paste forms. Add breadcrumbs, scallions, egg, carrot, cayenne, tahini, and bulgur. Season with salt and pepper, and mix to combine. Form mixture into 4 patties, each about 1 inch thick.
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-low. Cook patties until browned and firm, 5 to 8 minutes per side. Serve on English muffins with Tahini Mayonnaise and lettuce.
Tahini Mayonnaise
Makes 1/2 cup

In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup light mayonnaise, 1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon tahini (sesame-seed paste); season with coarse salt and ground pepper.
