Random Question

Rachel-CIO stands for cry it out. But most people don't really use the term correctly since they usually correlate it to The Ferber method of sleep training and even he doesn't like it to be called cry it out. I call it horrible but that's just the baby wearing hippie mama in me lol!

**CIO - cry it out***
DS - dear son
DD - dear daughter
DH - dear husband
SAHM - stay at home mom
WAHM - work at home mome

=0) It can get confusing.

Only ones I didn't see were VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) and then you will see V2BAC, V3BAC, etc...which is just 2nd vaginal birth after c-section and on and on!

CIO is Cry It Out referring to making babies self soothe to sleep.

These abbreviations come from a site called FlyLady.com (great site by the way). The first D stands for Dear and the second stands for whoever you are referring to, e.g., D - Daughter, S - Son, H - Husband, etc.

i think its ridiculous, why people can't just type "son, daugher, Husband" For some odd reason they have to add "DEAR" to it.. as if they're specifying that they still love the person???

The list Laurie posted is great! I didn't know there were so many. Thanks for asking. The ones I know is because my husband and I work with teens, and I wouldn't understand anything they write if I hadn't asked someone. After Laurie's post, we should all be pretty good at this, unless I'm too old for my memory to care! :)

Don't feel bad, it took me a long time to figure it out! There are still some I don't know, like CIO (I think that's one of them)... or maybe it's CIE... whatever ;)

This is ridiculous!!! I also don't know the abbreviation code and have no idea why people are so excited about using them. Seriously, we need a list of "decoders"?
Just by the number of people who also agree we have NO IDEA what people are talking about when they use them, maybe people will stop!! :)

Thanks for asking this question...there were some abbreviations that I didn't know what they stand for and got the answer now. Laurie's list is awesome.....didn't know there were that many and don't think I could ever remember it all.
