Private Practice OB Who Takes Blue Cross?

Hi! I've just moved in and had private OB care for my last pregnancy and now this one. I am 26 weeks along - and am anxious to find excellent care near Shaumburg. I have read most of the other posts but most of the doctors seem to be in large practices where you never really know who you will see or who will deliver the baby, and it seems the wait times for appointments can be quite long. I really don't care if the doctor is male or female, but personalized treatment is my number one priority.
Is my miracle doctor out there?
Thanks for your advice.

Not sure if you have the ppo or the hmo, but I use Midwest Midwifery with the ppo. They deliver at Alexian Bros. in Elk Grove. I had a great experience with them for prenatal and delivery, and am continuing on with my regular check-ups and paps. I really encourage you to consider using a midwife, they really give you that personal attention you're looking for. http://www.midwife.org/find.cfm or you can always ask me if you want more info.

you can check on BCBS website for doctors on their plans. There are also websites that report complaints on doctors. I've lost the info but I checked on pediatrician on one of these sites and found the problems we were having were being experienced by others. Also found out the qualifications of doctors and was surprised at one. Just put search words in for find a doctor, etc and you should get to a list of these sites. That's how I found it.

I just love my OB, His name is Angelo Alexander and his address is 1555 Barrington Rd # 335 Hoffman Estates, IL
It is the Dr. building right next to the St. Alexius Hospital. He has a small practice and I think only one other Dr. he works with. The number is ###-###-####

Dr. Richard Mruz in Elk Grove Village out of Alexian Brothers is excellent! It is only Dr. Mruz and the midwife, Jill Edwards, CNM MS APN. I have been seeing Dr. Mruz since I was a teenager (I am 35 now) and would be devastated if I had to switch! I don't have Blue Cross, but I believe they take it - that is the most accepted insurance and I used to have it and they did accept it.

They are fantastic over there - the entire staff is always helpful and friendly and they treat you like family. Here is their number ###-###-####. Good Luck with whoever you choose!

i loved mine- there were only two drs when i was pg, but now i think they've hired a third. i originally saw dr. trevedi, but he had a planned vacation on my delivery date so i switched to dr. das. she was great. this isn't the sort of thing i was expecting to get compliments on in the hospital, but i had many nurses comment on her c-section incision on me (emergency c-section, not planned). they're at 1585 Barrington in Hoffman Estates (part of St. Alexius hospital) ###-###-####. good luck!
