Definitely your sinuses, but maybe not yet sinusitis. If the weather in NY is anything like here in bipolar VA, every time a difference weather front comes in, I feel the saaaame way. It usually goes away with a warm compress, or if the weather changes again. Feel better!!

sounds like sinusitis, I have a lot of it this time of year. EVERY YEAR. Try an anti inflammatory ( Motrin , etc.) and some nose spray. Also try a hot clothe on the area , and a hot shower!

It sounds like sinus pressure. Unfortunately, mothers can and do get sick. With any luck it's just something simple that you'll get over soon.

You could try massaging the areas that feel 'congested' and drink lots of liquids.

But you're a nurse, you know that already.

Try a neti pot. Use warm water with a little salt and a pinch of baking soda. One of those ancient non-pharmaceutical methods coming back into favor! Maybe you just need to flush things out instead of dealing with an infection.

It's the atmospheric pressure in the north. I'm along the same jet stream line and have the same weather in southeast MI as you do in NY, NY. I've had a horrible sinus headache for the last 18ish hours.

Pseudoephedrine, ice pack, and a dark room.

If it turns out not to be sinusitis -- you're seeing a doctor to ask, I hope -- ask if it could be cellulitis. Not "cellulite" but cellulitis, a swelling of the tissues. I got it on my nose when my then-toddler knocked my glasses around when they were on me. It goes away on its own though you may need to take ibuprofen etc. because of the swelling. Ask about that, if the answer isn't sinusitis. Good luck.
