I had my baby just over 6 weeks ago and she will be 7 weeks on Sunday, at my 6 week check up I had and IUD inserted and my bleeding had just started to slow down, and now I am bleeding as if I was at the heaviest point during my cycle. Is that normal? i think the IUD has something todo with it but I am not sure. Has anyone else experienced this before?

What can I do next?

Same thing happend to me and it eventually stopped and didn't have any bleeding again for like 9 months (but was nursing too). I would certainly call the dr. but I also know that bleeding with the IUD is normal in some amounts.

Hello, I have had the exact same situation happen. I went back to my doctor and we collectively concluded that the IUD did in fact cause my increased bleeding (I had been still lightly bleeding before the IUD). My daughter is now 3.5 months old and my bleeding finally stopped around 2.5 months (the heavy bleeding lasted about 2 weeks, but was not everyday). Good luck.

If you are not over 5' 4" tall an IUD is not going to work well. Bleeding is just one of the troubles smaller women have with IUD's.
You don't say which type you have. Is it one with hormones in it.
Yes I bled horribly with two different types of IUD's and gave it up.
