So What Happened?

Thank you everyone...I am checking all places listed. I have found one that I like online at Old Navy..but still looking just in case! Turns out I needed one sooner than I thought...so at lunch I went to Kohls...found one that works "good" for me...I will keep looking but at least i have one for tonight!

http://www.torrid.com/torrid/Clothing/Swim.jsp if you're a 16 and up. The have a lot of top + bottoms option. For bottoms they have the dreaded skirt, mini leggings (kinda like spankies), board shorts, cinching shorts (my fav, the drawstrings are on the side so you adjust the length of the shorts). So you mix and match between tops and bottoms. They also have several 1 piece types. NO idea on the padding.

I don't know how plus sized you are. But for suits to actually swim or do water aerobics in try Junonia.com . If you're just hanging out beside the pool JMS and Woman Within are cheaper...

omg yes!!!!!!!!
Figleaves.com
Bravissimo.com
Bare essentials.com
Not sure how they are with plus sizes, but they go big on cup sizes.
the latter ships out of Jersy and the two former ship out of the UK which makes returning a little bit of a pain, but still possible. Bare essentials sends you a return bag in the mail and bills your c.c. so you don't have to mess with the post office.

Great fashion forward bikinis and one peices for DD and bigger.

or just google "dd swimwear". I just bought two bikinis with underwire, adjustable straps, and fuller coverage, and totally fashion forward. All retail stores stop at size C. Lame! Buy on line.

I haven't been there this year, but I've found suits at Marshal's for a reasonable price. Kohl's usually has nice suits, but they are expensive.

I've been a variety of sizes over the last 6 years, and I cannot say enough good things about Land's End swimwear! They've really branched out too, so they offer a variety of styles and cuts and almost everything is also offered in a plus size. Before my plus size swimwear years and after -I still love their suits! They're flattering; they fit well, and although they can be a little pricier than some (but not department stores or other swimwear specialists) -they last and last! www.landsend.com or you can try some Sears stores since they bought them. However you won't find the selection in the Sears stores that's online and in the catalog. Sign up for their email blasts, and you'll constantly get free shipping and 25% -40% offers (and no, I don't work for them -just a fan!).

I second the response for Land's End. Lots of pretty styles and not badly priced at all.

I found one at Target.com - it's a one piece with one shoulder strap and doesn't have a skirt but a longer 'top' so it's not just the bottom piece (not sure how to explain). I bought an XL and wear a 14/16 and it's tight but sucks everything in! I get lots of compliments on it. Not sure of the name, though!

I didn't read all the posts, but thought I'd throw this in. You can go to JC Penney online and order nice ones. I have actually gone to the "regular" size swim suits and if you pull their drop down menu for sizes, a lot of them are avail in plus sizes also. Every year I always get complimented on my suits, and everyone always asks where did you get that suit??!! That is so nice!! Good luck hope you find one you love!

walmart has some nice bathing suits. I bought a nice one for $15. another place to look is lane bryant, target. I do not blame you for not wanting the skirt kind. I would also tell you to go to sears. I think they sell lands end and they have plus size stuff. I would also check Macy's or Boscovs if you have one of those in your area. Good luck
