So What Happened?

WOW, okay, I feel much better since so many are having the same symptoms...I guess it's just gas, freaky gas, but gas...bummer, I kept thinking I had another one in there [LOL]. I saw below that it takes 7-years for the body to get back to pre-preggo state...didn't know that little factoid..wow

Thanks again!

Yes my daughter is 4 months old and every once in a while I will get that flutter feeling like when I was pregnant. My husband thinks that is is my body healing from having a c-section...I am anxious to see the other posts..

Yep, just gas and being a first time mom, it happens probably to all of us. And FYI- It only takes two years for your body to fully recover from pregnancy... :)

Oh, my gosh! I am so surprised to see the number of people that have these. My son is 4 mo. old and I am having them. I thought it was all in my head. It was worrying me b/c I recently got an IUD and stopped having periods so I was starting to think I might really be prego. I even had a dream last night about the kicking sensation.

Hi Angie! I tell you what, I thought this was just me! My son is almost two and a half, and I still feel these. I don't feel them as kicks, but like the little "butterfly" flutters that I remember. Is that what you are talking about? I have always chalked it up to my uterus shrinking back down to normal size. I've read that it take SEVEN years after having a baby for your body to get back completely to the way it was prior to being pregnant, so I guess the flutters will continue! Thanks for making me feel like I'm not the only person in the world with this issue!

I had the same thing. My daughter is almost 20 mos now and I don't feel them anymore but I SWORE it still felt like I will having baby flutters all the time. I don't know if is was just all my "innards" slowly moving back to where they were or what but it was freaky to me too! :o)

I totally had them and they totally go away! Not to worry. I mean, you may want to check with your DR just in case, but from what I hear they are completely normal. Sure does feel strange though, doesn't it? :)

My youngest is 3yo and I still feel the phantom kicks. I don't just feel them, I can SEE them as well. If I am laying flat on my back and look at my bare belly I can see a slight movement with the "kick". It's certainly nothing I felt before I ever had kids and it really does feel like there is a baby in there, but I am 10000000% sure there isn't. ;)

I have a 7 month old and I get them. They really freaked me out one time that I even took a pregnancy test. I am happy to know that it is normal.

My baby is 7 mo today, and I started getting these a couple of weeks ago. My hubby said I'm crazy! Even my mom said she gets that feeling every now and then.

YES!!! OMG, I get them all the time. From the time my son was a few months old till now, and he is 2.5. I am so glad Im not the only one that has this. I used freak, wandering if I were PG and didn't know it. It doesn't feel like full term but a few months or so. I didn't tell anyone because I was afraid they would think I've lost it. I would worry that I had a tubal pregnancy or something that wasn't showing up on PG tests or that would allow me to have my period. This stinks for me because I want another baby and get my hopes up. I also experiance other symptoms of pregnancy as well like late periods, extremely sore breats, extreme bloating, mood swings, and sometimes nausea.
I now think that its just gas and the rest is just hormones. I think that after all that stretching in your belly area, plus knowing what it feels like to have a baby kick and move, makes you more aware of the gas and functions. Plus, things aren't were they used to be (not to mention my boobs and butt) so you are not used to having gas in those areas.
I also read that some people swear they are PG and keep going to there Dr because they feel babies in there stomachs, and Drs pass this as they are in some kind of denial that they aren't PG anymore (especially if there was a loss).

Thanks for posting this. I'm glad I am not alone and now I can move on,

TLee

My twins are 17 mos. old and I still feel that occassionally. It's nice to know it's not all in my head, b/c I SWEAR it feels like there is a baby in there kicking around. It's very strange, and as much as I did not like being pregnant it does make you kind of miss those days.

I have a son that is 8 months old too and I still fill little kicks here and there and I tell my husband that I swear there is another baby in there!!! He tells me that it's probably just gas rolling around in my tummy- but I totally understand what you are going through. It kind of makes you miss being pregnant doesnt it?
