I was 'catwalk' here for a number of years...I chose that because MANY years ago I was a child model...and then years after that got a degree in theatre...and the 'lighting' often was up in a 'catwalk'.

I changed my name after an ugly breach here on mamapedia. My name now, 'feline stroller', conveys the same message. One just needs to look a bit harder...lol

I used my first name, H., for the longest time. "Nervy" girl is a play on my middle name, Minerva. If I happen to be a little 'nervy' in my answers...well, I'm known as a compulsive 'truth teller' by my RL friends, so it sort of suits. (Not quite "Temperance Brennan" blunt, but I am pretty direct.)

I chose Fuzzy because I have a total of 21 animals in my home, and everything I own is covered in dog and cat hair.

I am Canadian. Canuck is slang for Canadian.

What a fun question. I wondered about user names too. Mine is because my children are "Hapa" slang for half. Usually refers to Asian or Polynesian and Caucasian. My dh is Filipino and I am Caucasian

Mine is a play on we want to adopt ... Thus, Wee12adopt. And we have through foster care ... One little boy and our little girl will be adopted soon too, also through foster care.

Mine is because that is how I tend to see things, one of two ways:

1) Enjoyable and "fun";
or
2) A sarcastic thought when things are quite a bit more stressful than we imagined they would be (you know, back when we were still pregnant and hadn't had to deal with the reality of actual little people we call "kids" and when we still thought that babies/kids/husbands were all unicorns and rainbows).

Mine was my first name and last initial. Then I started to feel a little funny about privacy, and changed it. I'm not very creative, so - mynewnickname

Mine is because I am not longer in throws of addiction, I am finally free and I because I am finally free I get to be a friend, mom, wife, all that cool stuff. What a fun question and i love all the answers.

Rosebud was a sled, which isn't particularly representative of me. It was just the first thing that popped into my mind when I changed my user name from my real name.

The problem with everyone changing their names to more anonymous ones is that I don't know who most people are any more. There were a number of regulars who I came to "know" over the years, who are probably still on here in some form, but I've never taken the time to figure out who's who.

For privacy reasons I stopped using my first name and last initial and went with my favorite color--yellow. Seems like not many people like yellow as their favorite color, but I've loved it since I was a kid. One of my HS best friends used to ask me if I was going to make the bridesmaids wear yellow in my wedding. I didn't, but we did have yellow flowers!

I used to use my first name and last initial...then I changed to W. W. - it's a nickname from a long time ago...

Zita is a nickname I picked up years ago (long story.) It represents the wilder, more free (child free!) side of me.
Of course Mama comes from being a mom.

Mine actually started on a chat room a long time ago for people who own Neapolitan Mastiffs, aka Neos. Then I started going on a mom site when I was preggo with my first, and neo (as in new) mom still worked. When I started on here, I used my name and last initial but went to my old username because of the extra publicity of facebook.

I think I was Marie for a while (my middle name), then Mary (my sister's name. She passed away last February), now I am Sunshine state mom because I live in Florida. I go by E. too. That's my sister's middle name.

I will never use my real name becase I am a writer and I don't want people to look me up. I like being anonymous like others.

When I started on this site, I used my first name and last name initial. I was concerned about privacy so... I was born and raised up north and moved to the south when I went to college. So... Southern Yankee=) It fits!

Just a shortened version of my first name. And Spanish for "Hey, look at this!"

When my husband and I started dating, we both really enjoyed the music of Steve Earle. One of my favorite songs was Galway Girl. I use that as my screen name as it is a happy reminder of my younger self who was in the middle of falling on love :)

Actually, mamapedia was putting some of our stuff on their FB without telling any of us so I wanted to make sure that I had a name that wouldn't be traceable.

This has been so fun to read the history behind the names...but boy does it make me feel like a LAME-O.

I had no idea what I was signing up for when I started on this site about 4.5 years ago so I wanted to remain somewhat anonymous. I just went with M....because I am one. And W because it is a letter in my name.

Now I wish I could change it to something more personal, more "me" and fun.

D's mom - my son's name starts with a D....and i am his mom. Simple and a very strong beautiful statement....and proud to be D's MoM :)

Like others I changed mine from my first name and last initial over privacy issues. I love squirrels and with 2 little ones (T.) under three, I go a bit nutty at times. Fun question. :)

I fit into all three listed attributes. Some of the time all at once. I switch mine around as I see fit as I become bored easily. I realize I'm not anonymous. Those who 'know' me can easily figure out who I once was, or who I am to be.
