Pediatricians in Los Alamitos

Yes, actually she is my two daughters (ages 3 & 5) pediatrician and she is great! We switched to her about 2 years ago from another pediatrician that we weren't happy with, and that was the best move we could've made. The staff is great too, and I always get an appt. the same day when my kids are sick. She is wonderful and thorough with my kids, and I never feel rushed. I would highly recommend her! My daughter has been going to Kaplan and Widelitz since she was an infant and they are great. All of the doctors there are great and I think she's seen most of them. I would highly recommend their office.

We went to Dr. Shih and then she stopped taking our insurance. I liked her for the short time I saw her. The other strong group is Dr. Widelitz. He has great nursing staff for phone questions, too.

She is a wonderful pediatrician. She was just starting out, and part of a large practice that I was going to when my 15-year old was born. She was also there when my 7-year old was born. Both of my kids really liked her, and we would request her most of the time. She is a thorough, and caring doctor. She left to go out on her own a few years ago, and I really miss her, but also liked the other doctors and nurse practitioner in the larger office, so I stayed put. The larger office is headed by Drs. Kaplan and Widelitz, the nurse is Barbara who my older daughter is really comfortable with about growing up stuff. I would highly recommend Dr. Shih!

All the Doctors in that office are wonderful, including Dr. Shih.They also have a wonderful Nurse Practitioner,Barbara. We have been going there for years. My (just turned 18) year old daughter and my son now 12,have always had good experiences there.I also have 2 adult children who were patients there as well!!! Good Luck

I have an 8 month old daughter and I take her to Dr. Kaplan in Los Alamitos. She was my sister-in-laws family pediatrician since her and her sisters were babies. She takes her daughters there too and recommended them to me. My daughter has seen Dr. Kaplan since her first day in the hospital and I love him. My pediatrician is Dr. Kaplan, Dr. Widelitz, Dr. Tosu, Dr. Fukami and also Barbara Bennett (Nurse Practitioner). I've been going to these doctors since my daughter was born (she's 3 1/2 now)and my son goes there now (he'll be a year on 4/23). When either one of them is sick I can get them in on the same day, they are open on Saturday mornings. When we do have appts we are usually seen on time. I am particular to Dr Widelitz but he is not always available and I've seen Barbara and she is fantastic, she knows my kids and is very interested in who they are. When I asked my OB for any pediatrician recommendation, he gave me two choices...Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Shih. I chose Dr. Kaplan simply because I had a son and 2 older boys and thought the older ones would like the male dr as opposed to a female dr. But my dr.'s office told me Dr. Shih was just as good. As a matter of fact, the office manager at my Dr.'s office whom I have gone to for over 10 years said she took her daughter to Dr. Shih. Although I don't know anything about Dr. Shih personally, I have heard from someone else that she is pretty good!

Dr. Shih used to practice with Dr. Kaplan (mentioned in one of the other responses) Both are fabulous!!! My twins were premies with a handful of health problems and Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Shih both attended them. We stopped seeing Dr. Shih when she started her own practice because of our health insurance, but otherwise would have stayed with her. She is very nice, has great rapport with the kids, an easy going demeanor and practical approach to everyday pediatric problems. My kids loved that she was soooo tiny she could buy clothes in the children's department and often wore a winnie the pooh outfit. She's a doll. I really miss her! She's in the same building as Dr. Kaplan who also has an excellent staff of pediatricians. That's where we currently go. My favorite thing about Kaplan's office is
Saturday appointments for sick kids, and they are able to take patients the same day you call if someone suddenly comes down with something that needs attention. Either office would be an excellent choice!!

Yes! My two daughters were born at Los Alamitos Hospital and Dr. Shih is our pediatrician right across the street. She and her staff are amazing! They always return phone calls, will take you in same day, and my girls love them. They are the best!

I originally sent my first baby to a physician's group, but I felt like their doctors were always in a rush and we were being herded. Dr. Shih always answers our questions and concerns thoroughly and they do great follow-ups!
