My doc recomends my 15 month old daughter have Pediasure cause she doesn't eat very well and isn't putting on much weight, but after having Pediasure she isn't hungry at all. Has anyone used Pedasure and had the same problems?

What can I do next?

I agree, give it after meals. We used it when my daughter had her tonsils out and then to increase what she ate. When we gave it to her first, she did not want to eat. Have her eat first and then offer.

Hi S.,

I focus on maternal and child health and can offer you tons of great ideas to help get your toddler to eat more of a variety of foods. Honestly, pediasure is a waste of money. You can make your own "shake" buy purchasing a rice protein powder by Nutribiotics..it is organic and enzymatically processed means nothing has been destroyed during the "powder" making process. It is $20 for a tub and you only need a tsp per 3oz...I still give this to my daughter who is 19m. This will last you months. Just put it in their milk with some added liquid vitamins.

My daughter put on just a tad under 2lbs in 6m and was not concerned at all. My peditrician said that toddlers are so active that their weight will flucuate and this type of weight gain is very normal.

Email me with your email address and I will provide you a list of ideas and great info on what toddlers really need under 3yrs of age.

Doctors are not dieticians or nutritionists...so they really do not offer the best advice. They get MAYBE one semester of nutrition...

My son is 3 and the ped said to give it after he eats. I was giving it ahead of time and he had NO desire at all to eat. They are expensive too, so you don't want to waste them:)

How often were you told to give her the pediasure? I would try feeding her, then giving her the pediasure after she is done eating.
