Can you recommend a good book to be given as a party favor for a rock climbing party? The kids will be in 2nd grade. I wasn't thinking maybe some book on how to tie knots or maybe about the ascent to Everest. Can't find anything age appropriate.
That sounds awesome! Our family likes rock climbing and I think this is a fun idea. There is a National Geographic Kids book my 2nd grade daughter has called Rock Stars! I think it would be perfect!
If you don't find a book I like chacha's idea! Maybe put a pack of rock candy in the water bottle for fun.
In addition to the book, another idea is to give each child a colorful carabiner to use on their school backpacks (could give a carabiner attached to a reusable water bottle too).
(The just-for-fun carabiners are very inexpensive but they look like climbing ones.)

Great idea - just wanted to say my child received one of those National Geographic ones recently at a party, and it was a big hit! I think the kids will really enjoy that
In 2nd grade my son read several "I Survived" books. The are about historical events. This one is about the eruption of Mount St. Helens. I know that sounds kind of morbid, but most boys think this series is really cool!
