Hello Mamas, I have a bunch of baby/toddler things to sell and dont know the best way to go about it. I live in an apt. so I cant have a yard sale. I have tryed things like craigslist and no real luck there. So i am asking you mamas Where is a good place I can sell the items. Here is an example of what i have so you can better help me, Clothes/shoes Girl/Boy strollers, chair, standing jumper and more. Any ideas are appreciated. I would prefer they go to someone that will use them not just a shop that will resale them. I dont have any family that has a house that I can use for a a yard sale either. TIA

What can I do next?

consignment shops! if you can't find one in the yellow pages for kidz ask at your local thrift store, also where you shop usually has a bulletin board to place small ads on as well as some laundromats, your church bulletin, your electric company monthly magazine, if you have a local small 'free' ad newspaper...good luck!!!

You should check out one of the consignment sales that are popping up all over. Just Between Friends is a really great one. And there are others like Rhea Lana and Duck Duck Goose. I don't know what exactly you would have in your area. www.jbfsale.com Clothes sell really well, as long as they are in really good condition and strollers and other baby gear like that are always popular.

You could also try a regular consignment store, but I never make as much at the consignment store as I do at Just Between Friends.

I'm sure you want to make some of your money back on these items but have you considered donating them to the battered women's shelter? Those women and their children need all the help they can get. If you have to have the money, the only option it sounds like you have is to consign them. Good luck!!

I think it is a good idea to sale them to a resell shop and use the money to rebuy clothes for the appropriate age now.

Craig's List can work if you do it right. You must have a good picture( I see lots of pics that are horrible) of item. It must be priced right. Too high and nobody is interested. I always think what would I pay for second hand items. You must be willing to meet someone at a public area near your home so that strangers are not entering your home and they aren't afraid to meet you. My biggest pet peeve is is using language incorrectly. People type "I want to sale" and they mean sell. Drives me crazy. And I hate the "text" version when a person is selling an item. You could join a clothing consignment sale. I have done one in Edmond that does it twice a year. Once in spring with spring and summer clothes and then in the fall for fall and winter clothes. They want nice looking items. No stains or tears. They take 30% of whatever you sell. I try to have a lot so sometimes I have to alternate years.
