I originally posted looking for a sitter, back when mampedia used to be mama source you used to be able to do so, I was informed now you cannot do this. I tried to find the delete posting but cannot. so i am now editing this. I know the going rate is 10 an hour for sitters now adays, but I only earn 11.00 an hour, it's pointless to work in that case, and I have contacted friends and family first knowing the price of sitters now. Back when I used to babysit we charged 1.50 an hour I can't believe how much the cost of a sitter has gone up in 20 years. Please disreagurd this posting thanks so much

I know you asked us to disregard but I have a friend that was able to qualify for child care assistance due to her low rate of pay. If you have a case worker or anyone with connections such as this I recommend contacting them. Good luck! I know I chose to work the opposite shift as my husband for this exact reason. It was not worth it for us to pay a sitter.

Are you looking for day care or a sitter? I pay my daycare person $40 a day for up to 10 hrs for 2 kids. but if I am going out for dinner or something and have to get a teenager to watch the kids I have to pay $7-$10 an hour for them.

I am sorry to say I doubt you can find a sitter for that amount of pay. Did you really mean $50/week for what looks like almost full time sitting some weeks? I think the going rate for a high school or college student would be closer to $10/hour. Do you have family who can help you or maybe find a child care coop? Also, I am not familiar with the particular rules of Mamapedia, but you might want to check the solicitation rules of the site to verify you can post a "help wanted" notice like this. Good luck.
