It's not a club, but you can find lots of fun things to do for the summer at www.kidspages.org. They've got a calendar loaded with fun stuff to do.

My own kids are much younger, but they've really enjoyed some of the free concerts & things around town. Also check out www.scfd.org...several of the museums have days that are free to CO residents so you can check them out.

Most libraries have some activities over the summer, and we also do a fair amount of activities through the local recreation centers. Very fun & my kids get to meet lots of other kids that way!

Best of luck & enjoy Colorado!

I have an 11 year old daughter and a 9 year old boy who love making new friends. As far as your older child, have you looked into your local rec center? My son has Karate classes twice a week for only 50 dollars a month, and there are tons of other activities. We live in Aurora, but we go to Central park in Stapelton, Belleview park in Englewood, and City park in Denver often. There are so many activities to do everywhere you go! The art museum is free on the first Saturday of the month. Where do you live? I may be able to meet up with you sometime and introduce our kids. As I said, they love making new friends, and have an uncanny ability to make others feel comfortable in new situations.

You may want to check out meetup.com, there are a TON of different groups out there so it just depends on what your interests are. For example, there are photography groups, playgroups, even fitness groups, you may even be able to find other Floridians. I belong to a parenting group which has over a hundred members, but I know there are smaller groups as well. You would need to set up your profile and email the orgainizer since most groups are private but I bet you could check out different ones before commiting.

I am a native Floridian (Brevard County) who moved to CO too. I have 4 kids, my oldest will be 7 in December. Even if our kids aren't around the same age, I would love to be friends!

Make it a GREAT weekend!
