Can anyone tell me how netflix charges or what they charge for above the ($7.99) a month fee? My husband has talked about wanting to get it but Im skeptical about hidden fees.

Thanks in advance

No fees. We've been netflix members for 12 years, first for DVDs, and then for streaming as soon as they offered it.

I can't complain. I've never had an issue, actually.

I don't blame you about wondering about the hidden fee thing...8 bucks seems like such a deal when we have been paying through the nose for years for cable, or satellite channels...but now it has been over a year since we have switched to Netflix alone. We are completely content with it! I am happy as can be to save all that money we spent on cable...just sad that we did not do it sooner!

No hidden fees anywhere. $7.99/month gets you unlimited steaming video through your smart tv, game system (we use a Wii and a PS2), computer, tablet, and phone. You can be running up to 2 or 3 devices from the same account at one time. So my husband has been watching on his iPad in the kitchen while the kids and I have been watching something else in the living room, all on the same account. They charge a card on file automatically every month.

For an additional $7.99/month, we also get one DVD through the mail at a time. We are terrible about sending them back in a timely manner and have actually kept one for more than 2 months. No late fees ever, but you can't get another DVD mailed until they receive the one you have.

Try the free month trial. I bet you'll love it.

No hidden fees. Greatest thing ever...we do streaming. I swear I missed ten years of television and movies when my daughter was younger. Binge viewing without forwarding through commercials is golden!!

No hidden fees. Ever. :)

I've had Netflix for five and a half years. First I was a DVD customer. Then I dropped cable and became a streaming customer. That was years ago, and I've never regretted it. No commercials, and I can always find something to watch. And it's so cheap!

Netflix doesn't have any hidden fees, contracts, etc. All the pricing is upfront. The only possible thing that might surprise you would be state/local taxes on your bill. It's 5.5% where I live.

Streaming content depends on licencing, and some shows/movies are not allowed to be streamed. This is not Netflix fault, but the choice of the rights owners/studios. If you want to have access to the whole library you will need both streaming and a DVD option.

You also need a good high speed internet connection, preferably not one with data caps. If you use wifi to stream to a device you should have a reliable router. In all my years as a Netflix customer loss of service by Netflix fault has only happened a couple of times and they automatically prorated our bill after they fixed the problem.

There are some ISPs that have been in conflict with Netflix resulting in a poor stream. The most recent ones in the news are Comcast and Verizon. Those issues are supposed be resolved now. Again, not a Netflix issue but an internet service issue.

Suz T mentioned a change to 'no more unlimited devices'. There has been an official limit of 6 registered devices (does not include computers) for years although some people have successfully hooked up more.

People freak out every time Netflix changes anything. They changed the font a little and OMG Armageddon. LOL They did announce a price change in May, from $7.99 to $8.99 for new customers. Existing customers saw no change in price.

They just charge the 7.99 plus tax, so 8.46 or something like that. It does come straight out of your bank account so keep that in mind. Also, they are raising the price for new customers by a dollar or two but current customers keep the 7.99 for a couple of years.

Netflix is pretty straight forward with their prices. You can just buy the streaming, buy just the dvd choice, or do both. I think it is 7.99 for one or the other or 15.99 for both.

I pay a flat $7.99 a month and I stream. I have never ordered dvd's simply because I hate dealing with the postal system and I worry about them getting lost in transit. Besides, why wait for a dvd in the mail when I can watch online? I have had it for two years and have never been charged a penny extra.

To my knowledge... No hidden fees and I watch my card daily!

My daughter has Netflix at her condo and so far no hidden fees.

Rest assured, I watch my card like a hawk and I see any potential charges before officially charged.

They only charge more if you get a higher tier package. I pay the 7.99/month and get unlimited streaming. If I wanted dvds as well, I'd have to pay more. I've had it for years.

there aren't any hidden fees. we get the dvds as well as streaming because there are way more titles available, and our streaming service is sketchy at best. we pay about $20 per month.
there's a price increase coming down the pike, and we may let the streaming go, which will make me sad, but it's so frustrating to have a show hang up over and over again. netflix says it's my internet service, the internet service says it's the wifi, the wifi folks says it's netflix. ha!
be advised, friends, the 'unlimited devices' is coming to an end! i didn't figure that one would last for long.
but we've never had any bogus hidden fees pop up.

There are no hidden fees. You pay what the rates posted are, whatever you subscribe to. If you just stream, the current rates are $7.99 or whatever. That's it. No taxes... nothing.

If you also subscribe to DVDs or Blueray discs being mailed to you, that rate depends upon what schedule you sign up for. At one time, we had 3 movies out at one time. But that was before streaming came along. When streaming came along, we added streaming services, and dropped down to one movie out at a time. Our rate is consistent and there are never surcharges. Even if a disc comes to you that is unplayable or scratched/broken, etc.... just call. They immediately send you out a replacement option (or the same one if it is available) and you just mail back the damaged one. No extra or hidden fees.

Easy peasy.
Oh.. and yeah.. it doesn't matter how many devices you stream on. We stream on the bedroom TV, the family room TV, the living room TV, and 2 ipads. And the computer. Sometimes multiple devices at the same time. It doesn't affect the price at all.

We have had Netflix from the very beginning. No hidden fees.

Keep in mind, not every movie or show that Netflix has is available for streaming. This is because the Production companies have not released them all on streaming.

IF you decide to try out the DVD situation. Netflix is pretty awesome. We never "Did not receive a DVD" we ordered, but there was one time the DVD that was sent was the wrong one in the sleeve. I contacted them and they mailed the replacement right away and I mailed back the incorrect one. it only took a day! I also have mailed them a DVD that they said they never received. I emailed them and they said "not to worry about it".

They are very efficient, because they do not have just 1 mail center. They have them all over the country. There is even one here in Austin! So our service is excellent.

We have it, we can watch the streaming show/movies on our TV or on our iPad or on our Nook or on our Xbox etc.
They don't trick you or with hidden fees.
What is is, per their fees.
Its fine.
Its cheap.
Just look on their website.

We have been subscribers for a long time. Long ago you would choose a movie, they mail it to you, you watch it, you mail it back.
Nowadays, with their flat fee, you can watch movies or shows, just streamed to your TV etc. If you have a smart TV and it is internet connected etc.
