Hi ladies!

My son will be turning 4 in July this year, and it is just TOO HOT to have a backyard party during summer.... so I was thinking of maybe doing it at Chuck E. Cheese. His friends are all the same age (3-4)... is that too young? Any info or other party suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thnak you all so much!

They are the perfect age for Chuck E Cheese. I have three kids 17,15 & 6 and they have all had parties there from 1 year old to again in there teens. You have a couple choices you can have one of their planned parties or what I usually do is have it there on my own. I get there a little earlier then when I have the guests arrive and save a few tables then I just order pizza and buy a ton of tokens. You can find coupons online if you don't get them in the mail. (also they take expired coupons and you can use them more then once at the same time) If money is an issue you can start now stopping by and buying $20.00 worth of tokens at a time that way you don't have a huge expense day of party. I bring my own cake or cupcakes and goody bags. It usually ends up being under 200.00 dollars and that is with older kids who really go through the tokens. All rides and games are only one token and the younger ones have a blast. If you can have it during the week either first thing at opening 10am or evening about 5pm it is usually less busy. Not sure where you are located but ours in Thousand Oaks has a private party room that you CAN"T reserve but is available first come and we have used it several times it is great! Good luck if you have any other questions or concerns let me know. We love Chuck e Cheese.

Do yourself a favor and don't go to Chuck E Cheese!!! It's chaotic, noisy, hot and too many older kids. The last party my son attended there with my husband, there were 5 parties all at once, and they all sang for all the kids. Go to a fun indoor playplace like Tiny Town (Granada Hills), Creative Leap (Northridge), or Under the Sea (many locations), the Jump Around (Receda), etc. These places have climing structures, bouncers, train tables, little roller coaster cars, dress up, air hockey, etc. You can google your area and indoor playground to see what's close. They all have different packages. My son had his at the Jump Around because it was best for what I wanted out of a party without added fees. The littler kids will have MUCH more fun and you get to retain your mental sanity after two hours. The playplace will do the party stuff for you too. Have fun!!

My boys, 3 & 6 LOVED having their parties at Chuck E. Cheese. It's reasonably priced compared to other indoor party places and they do all the work!

You could always have a water party; get some little wading pools for them to play in with pool toys, rubber ducks, etc. You could do water games or let them run through the sprinklers. One water game we played at camp was to put different colored balls in the middle of the grass where a sprinkler head was, then each kid had a color they had to get. You turn on the sprinklers and they try to get their balls while trying to take the balls of their opponents out of their bucket and putting them in the middle again. My kids have done chuck e cheese for many years but it's hard to keep track of them unless you go early.

We just had a birthday party there. It was wonderful! The kids really enjoyed it. However, if you do watch your things carefully! We were packing to leave and turned to put stuff in our baby stroller and our camcorder was stolen. The thing is we are postitive it was the ppl by us. They were giving us problems..wont go into that. But regardless my camcorder with all the accessories are gone. Along with all our memories of bday parties, holidays, Christmas programs, and School programs. And sooo much more!!C.C. was not helpful at all! $700 gone and they wouldnt lift a finger to help! And manager was actually quite rude. Didnt ask any info and was too busy to take any of mine. So the parties and food are great. Just dont let anything out of your site!!!
