Hi, Moms. Happy Saturday! :)

My 5 yr old will be having a birthday in a couple of weeks, and I've already got his present figured out. However, I also thought I would pick up a new music CD for both kiddos to dance to.

Currently, my kids love to go downstairs and turn on the stereo to sing and dance to the Chipmonks (the movie soundtrack from their 2nd movie). It's a very upbeat tempo with pretty modern songs, and they will sing and dance all over the place. It's a great form of exercise, and they love it.

My problem is that I am so incredibly sick of the Chipmonks that I just groan (in my head) anytime that CD comes on. Don't get me wrong, the movies are cute, and the songs are pretty decent. I'm just really, really sick of it!!! :)

Do you have any suggestions of CD's that I could get for the kids that would be appropriate, but fun to dance and sing to?

More Info: We do have a CD with nursery rhymes, but that is more like a listen-to-before-bed CD than a crazy dance and sing to CD.

Thanks for your suggestions!

are they too young for the kidz bop cds? They replace the raunchy words with more appropriate one, but then I worry the kids will be ok, Oh we love katy perry not realizing what her real songs say.

other ideas are Brent Holmes he does songs about moose that are very funny and fun to move to.

laurie berkner band

zane gray? I think is his name.

I like pete seeger old school lol.

We didn't do "kids music" other than Disney (Little Mermaid, Lion King, etc.) and Sesame Street. My kids LOVED The Beatles (Yellow Submarine especially) and all kinds of show tunes, Annie, Sound of Music, even Phantom of the Opera.

Beatles are a great idea. We listen to Big Time Rush alot and the Kids Bop CDs. I like the kids bop because they are popular songs, but I am guaranteed that they are "clean"

Kids Bop 24. I bought it at Target and it has 'top 40 style' song by kids and the words are changed a little so it is age appropriate. my kids love it (husband, not so much).

you can preview it on youtube:

Definitely The Fresh Beat Band! Very danceable and very kid friendly but not babyish. It has good messages without being preachy. I love it too.
