I'm a 40 yo white girl w minimal style although I go through spurts of trying. I have a gc from mothers day. My big big delema is what color. I wear a lot of navy blue if that helps. If it were my fingers I would go w french manicure but I don't think I want that form my toes. What color would u recommend??? I want something that won't clash if that matters.

Also how long do u think it will take and how long will it last and look nice???

I also an very afraid of not understanding the accented english. Are there questions I should anticipate??? I'll enjoy it much more. If I know what to expect.

Last q. The pedi is $25 the exact amount of my gc. If I can't get cash from atm how would u handle it. Credit card for $5?

What can I do next?

Bring cash for the tip, they won't take a cc for that. Any shade of pink is usually good - you can go a little bolder/brighter/darker on your toes than you would on your hands. I normally go with something fuschia-y but there are lots of fun colors, pick your fave!

The first thing they'll say to you is some version of "pick you color" which where I go sounds something like "pee-kah-laaaaaahhhh?" so I didn't quite know what the technician was saying the first time. If there are various options for the pedicure you'll have to say which pedi you're getting (regular vs. hot stone vs. paraffin, etc.). Beyond that, you just sit in the chair, relax and let the technician do her thing. The chairs usually have a massager built in and they usually massage your calves as part of the service.

Remember to bring open-toed shoes to go home in and have fun!

Most of the nail places by me don't take credit cards for the tip. So I recommend you bring a $5 bill.

All you have to do is pick your color and sit back and relax! The whole process doesn't take that long, 30 mins max. I just had my toes done 2 weeks ago and they still look pretty, I went with purple and they put a pretty little flower on each of my big toes!

What's your favorite color?

Cash for tip! Lots of nails- only salons won't add it in.

A nice coral or a true red will go with everything & look peppy. French IS cute on toes but might be a bit extra.

Just got a pedi today, couldn't understand a word ANYONE there said, but everything always "gets across."

Get a design on you big toes for like 5 extra bucks. So cute!

Just stick your feet in and sit back and relax!! I'd get a nice bright spring color - don't worry about matching - just pick any bright color that you like.

It will take about a 1/2 hour and will last about 2 weeks. I suggest that you go back in two weeks and have another!! It's addicting.

Grab some cash from the ATM and while you are there, get a manicure. Mademoiselle or Ballet Slippers are common basic neutrals.

I only figured out you have a gift card when I was trying to figure out what your last paragraph meant. Very confusing...!

A pedi is very nice when they soak your feet, buff the dead skin and trim your nails well. If you do this once a month, and have GOOD people doing it who keep their ped baths very clean and clean their instruments, you will have healthy toes and feet!

I would consider taking your own instruments with you if you have them because only YOU use your instruments - not the general public. They will sanitize, but lots of articles have come out talking about sanitizing not being enough when people come in with skin diseases or conditions. You also don't want to shave your legs before going in. That can let in germs that can cause infection.

They may ask you if you want add-ons. Just smile and say no. You need to know what the basics are before you have them do additional things that cost more.

I would not do a french pedi. Don't worry about picking the same color as your finger nails. Just pick a color you like. Remember that it will be there for a longer time than your finger nails. For that reason, I never pick anything dark...

Don't use a credit card for $5 - that's h*** o* the folks and they don't like it. DO tip them - $3 is enough until you decide that you really like their work.

Have fun, relax and close your eyes, and enjoy the experience!

Toe nail colour should be bright and fun, especially for summer. I had a pedicure last summer that lasted nearly three months! My favourite toenail colours are hot pink, cranberry and turquoise blue.

For this time of year my "go to" colors are nudes, corals and pinks. Navy is a neutral color and will go with ANYTHING. The polish normally lasts me about a month, but the smooth feet about 2weeks.

You may be asked if you want a design like a flower, whispy lines or rhinestone accents - they can be fun, but $5 or more depending on the work. Oh and if you have a sore or something on your foot they may ask you about it and to document it on paper. One summer I met chiggers and had the scars on my feet still - they had me document it.
