Mothers Day Ideas... - Forest Lake,MN

My husband asked what I wanted for Mothers Day this year. I responded with, "Use your imagination, I would love anything unique and odd."

After saying that, I thought about my own mother and how she too, would like anything unique and odd. Any ideas from super creative moms and dads out there for ideas that are unique and odd.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi everyone! I love, love, love your ideas, especially the dad taking the kids for the day so I can have me time but, I would feel guilty because I never get to see my three kids due to work so thats out...

I was sent some ideas from many websites and have looked at them all this afternoon. I think I am going to lobby for the hand made stepping stones where we can make the project as a family and have a picnic. I also loved the fingerprint pendant idea from jewelrythatmatters person (thats going to be my gift to my mom). Who ever wrote playing baseball is a great idea, that will be part ofthe day

We're going to see Peter Pan at the local theater! It's by the botanical gardens so we'll spend some time in the garden, and bring the big picnic basket along for that. We love picnics and throwing the ball around, and there's a big open space the kids can run around while we lounge a bit on the blankets talking and watching them. It's a nice day for me, but also some good family time and fun for the kids (meaning less annoying stuff and more fun). :P

You can visit www.etsy.com and find some very homemade and unique crafts. They are online shops where artists and crafters showcase and sell their wares.

Check out this website...Talia Belle Designs Last year for fathers day I took a picture of my husband and my son and she changed the colors around, added wording across the back (personalized) and framed it...and her prices are reasonable. My husband...and my son love it!

How old are your kids? We had a great year when all my sisters, my mom and I celebrated together. First we went out to breakfast just us mom's. Then we had a picnic with our families and played baseball. It was great!

A day at the park or zoo with my family and then some time where dad watches the kids so I can do what I want to do. Maybe a massage, or as corny as it is, clean a closet/office without interruption. =)

I noticed you're in FL, so my idea is kind of far, but Pahl's Garden Center in Apple Valley does plant your own mothers day baskets. They run around $60-70+, but your hubby and kids get to pick a basket, pick the bulbs or seeds, plant then in the greenhouse, and then the week before mothers day, go pick them up all grown and pretty. They usually only have a couple of weekends open for this, and I don't know when they are, but you could find their number to inquire if interested! Or check local garden centers in your area.
