With my first it took 12 months and with my second 14 months before I had a period again. So yeah it's normal.

It took mine about 5 or 6 months. I didn't miss it not one little bit. Enjoy this time away from aunt flow! She's a pest.

Completely normal. Mine didn't return until my son was 11 months because of breastfeeding.
Enjoy it while it lasts! :)

Just another perk of breastfeeding!! This is totally normal!!! After my second it sook what felt like forever to start my cycle again! 9 months!! Breastfeeding plays a role in it and so does any birth control you may be useing. Just relax and enjoy your life period free she'll be back before you know it! But remember, just because you have not yet had a period it does not mean that you haven't ovulated so if another bundle is not yet desired use caution and protection! Enjoy #3 and being period free!!!

It was a whole year before my cycle returned. Like you I breastfed for six months. Sounds silly but I'm sure mine got going again because I was on family holiday for a week with a young female relation who was menstruating. They say that proximity within other females encourages your periods to come back. They stopped again but then started when I did temping work in a large office so was out and about and co-existing with other women.

This is completely normal. I had a cycle the entire time I nursed with my first child. However, I didn't have a cycle until a couple of months after I stopped nursing my son. After talking to several other moms and my doctor I was told it was completely normal and to enjoy it while I could.

With our daughter I didn't get my period until I stopped nursing--15 months. I'm now nursing our son--8 months this week and still no period. It's different for everyone, but typically your period doesn't start until you stop nursing. That's where the old wives' tale comes from that you can't get pregnant if you are nursing.

Totally normal! I had a baby girl in September, and am nursing her, and just got my cycle back this week. It took 7 months with my son, too, and I also breastfed him.

Totally normal. I went 9 months without a cycle after both my kids and my period came back really heavy at first, but regular. The pattern can change after each child. Our bodies are so wierd, er, um...I mean...amazing!

VERY normal. My menstrual cycle didn't return until 12 months after I gave birth. I was still breastfeeding, but only occasionally. My mother said hers never returned until she had fully weaned her kids. It's very, very normal. Some women's cycles aren't affected by breastfeeding, and will return right away. Others don't get it until that magic "6 month" marker. And still others don't see it it come back until they stop breastfeeding altogether.

If you're really concerned about it, though, clearly give a call to your OB/GYN for some reassurance. =)

I wouldn't worry. I didn't get mine back until I stopped breastfeeding.

Yep...like everyone else said. Totally normal. And don't be too freaked out if it takes a couple months AFTER you stop breastfeeding to get it back. That's what mine did after both kids. The first time it freaked me out, but everything was fine. Breastfeed until 9 mos, and didn't get my period until 2 or 3 months after that. Enjoy it while it lasts :-)
