Hi D.,
I'm 42 and I went through sugically induced menopause about 3 1/2 years ago. I was intially on synthetic HRT (estrogen) but switched to Bioidentical HRT about 3 years ago. Suzanne Summers wrote two great books about menopause and BHRT, "The Sexy Years" and "Ageless".
I will be happy to give you any advice/info that I can, feel free to email me.
Pat

Hi, D.: I'm in perimenopause and having many problems with other issues such as Thryroid and Andrenals that has cropped up in just the past couple of months (symptoms, anyway.) I choose to use a Naturopath for help with hormone imbalances and treatment as I no longer want to put anything synthetic in my body. I was treated with antidepressants for a time and I believe they wreaked havoc with my system. I'm still in the diagnostic stages in figuring out what the "big picture" is before I begin any treatment. I'd be glad to let you know how it goes.

Hi D.,

I am surprized that you are starting at the early age, but I was about the same age when I started having hot flashes but not too often, the doctor said I was too young to be having it. Anyways, now that I am 49 I stopped having periods since last year in July or August when I was 48 and all of a sudden, I had a period in January and I said no, this is not going to continue, Lord help me. But it stopped after 5 days and now I don't have my period since January Priase God for that. I am taking OPC-3 (an Anti-Oxidant supplement called Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins) you need to read about it on this link: http://www.marketamerica.com/taimanao/index.cfm?action=sh...
It has helped me go through with no symptoms of menopause at all. The only pain I go through is having to use the bathroom in the middle of the night because I drank a soda for dinner. The Hot flashes are very minimal, sometimes I don't even seem to have it at all. Well good luck and hope it is newsworthy.

Hi D.,
My name is C. and Im 43 also, I thinkI might be going
through menapause also. I have been told that by my family doc after some blood tests he took. I dont feel old but hearing that It scared me. My husband and I had talked about having another baby. That crushed both of us.
I guess I dont have any advise, I have questions also.

Alittle about me: I am 43, mother of 2 girls 3 and 13 years old. I have a wonderful husband that works hard having his own business. which makes it easier for me to stay home with our girls. I know Im truly blessed.

If you increase your daily calcium you will see a tremendous improvement to hotflashes, moodiness, etc. If you don't take any calcium, start with 500mg, you can increase to 1000 and it won't hurt.

Hi D., I was reading your posts and the responses about menopause and did not see any about trying progesterone creme. I use Arbonne products, one being Prolief, which is an all natural progesterone creme which helps to balance hormones. I am 46 and have been using it for a few years. I first heard about it by going to a seminar for women at Wild Oats about HRT's, breast cancer awareness, menopause etc.
If you want to read about it try Dr. John Lee's book, Everything Your Doctor Doesn't Want You to Know about Menopause.
He has a few others also.

Be glad to answer any questions, D.
