Mattress Help!!!

I recently bought a mattress from Bob's Furniture and let me tell you, my boby has never been through such severe pain from laying on a mattress. I paid about $600 and I had to call them to replace it. The new mattress they bought is WORST than the other. My boby as a result now has a permanent pain in my back and my side.

What mattress do you use and is EXCELLENT for one's body? I'm looking for comfort, I mean serious comfort.

Best,
V.

Well I bought a mattress from Sam's Club about 10 years ago. I still have it and do not have the means to buy a new one. However I bought a feather mattress to put on the top of it and I have a down comforter. I am so comfy I never want to get out of bed. And my boyfriend, his kids and my daughter all feel the same way!! Hope this helps.

My actual mattress isn't anything special but we have a 3 inch memory foam mattress cover, we got it from overstock for like 80 bucks and OMG it's like heaven! We can't afford a tempurpedic so we just have the topper and compared to my mom's tempurpedic I can't really tell a difference (her's is a little more firm) they come in all sizes from 1" - 4"+ and it's a super cheap way to make-over a mattress.

Get yourself a mattress topper and some luxurious sheets. I can't tell from your post if your mattress is too soft or too firm. Right now hubby and I are on a mattress that is too firm. So I just put a pillow between my legs (I sleep mostly on my side) and I wake up just fine.

FYI - I hated the temperpedic mattress. It was worse for me than the firm mattress we are on. Our next mattress will be that sleep number deal. I like the idea of being able to change the firmness of the mattress.

A $600 mattress is a pretty cheap one, which may be the problem. Not a high coil count. We have a Stearns & Foster, which is excellent if you want a regular mattress. It was well over $1,000, though.

I know people rave about the Tempurpedic mattresses. The big issue there can be the cost. They're quite a bit more than regular mattresses.

Tempurpedic. Prepare to adjust to it for several weeks after purchase; now 6 hours of sleep feels like 8.

If you are a stomach sleeper, get a firm mattress.
I feel your pain. Our fourth mattress that we have bought in 3 years is coming today. I hope we can finally get some sleep.

I saved up for a couple of years to buy a natural latex mattress.

My husband and I both love it. It is both resilient AND supportive. He needs firm support for his back, while I need a layer of sink-in softness for tender hips and shoulders. This mattress gives both. It's supposed to last for a minimum of 20 years, We've had it for a few years now and it's showing no sign of wear or sagging. Worth every penny.

I have the sleep number bed by Select Comfort. You will pay more for a set from them but I've had mine now for 11 years and LOVE it. It has separate air baffles for both sides that are controlled by different remotes so you can adjust accordingly. If my lower back is sore I can make it firmer or make it softer if need be.

Also really love my Tempurpedic. We bought it about 9 years ago and it still sleeps great. Takes a short period to get used to, but totally worth it (and the steep price tag).

Comfort depends on what you want. Do you want something firm or soft?

I had a firmer bed and it KILLED my lower back. I have a slipped disk and woke up every day in stupid ammounts of paid. We just bought a new mattress and I LOVE IT. It's a BeautyRest World Class and is plush. It's like sleeping on a freakin' cloud. I have not had that kind of back pain since.

The mattress and box spring and new frame cost about double what you paid, but if you have the box spring and just need the mattress you should be able to find one. Look for something on sale or a floor model so you can get better quality for the same price.
